In case you were wondering, we had an official toast tonight, drinking black velvets to our new age of gods and monsters. We’re sure the Devils will respond appropriately.
The first thing Boomer says as the broadcast starts is, “Whoa! Look at that! Chico’s got more gray in his rug this year!” It is a surprisingly lifelike aging look for him.
FIRST PERIOD
Steve very happily informs us that the previous two teams to start the season with road trips as long as the Devils’ this year both failed to make the playoffs. Thanks, Steve.
19:27 Is Marty trying to show off to us that it’s not last year’s playoffs anymore? Because he manages to not let a weird-angle shot go in against these guys. It’s a good start.
