Today we are embarking on our first epic hockey road trip. Some might argue that Tarrytown, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Princeton isn’t an “epic” itinerary, but those people can just keep it to themselves. We’re going to be on the road for seven days, with one wedding, three hockey games, four different hotels, 1347 miles driven, meeting up with two IPB Irregulars in person and knocking over one ice sculpture at the Harbour Club at HSBC Arena. We’re going to try to post regular updates along the way, but you know how things go with the best laid plans and all. So try not to trash the place here while we’re gone, and by all means tune into the Sabres/Leafs game on Monday, the Devils/Pens game on Wednesday and the Sabres/Jackets game on Friday because we have no doubt we’ll be getting some major airtime (on Monday for the whole ice-sculpture incident with Katebits, on Wednesday for the way we’ll look artfully dejected in the stands at some appropriate point, and on Friday for, well, the insanity that is sure to ensue when we are attending a game with Katebits and Heather).
