Gentle Reader, tonight is an exciting night. We’re heading up to the new arena for the first time; we will be bringing with us some fancy new mo-bile IPB Machines (Internet? On a phone? What will they think of next?!) so look for us to attempt to check in occasionally. If not, just assume we’re having a great time watching the Devils lose 10-0 to Carolina (as they always seem to when we see these teams in person)!

If anyone’s reading this and going to be at the game, we’ll be in Section 104, row 6 (we’re the ones bedecked in PandoNation and PauileMartinNation finery, trying to get our mobile phones to work like computers). Drop on by to say hoy!

We’re at the train station! Exciting! T-minus 50 minutes until IPB invades the Rock!

We are on the train! Repeat, we are on the train! To go with our fancy mo-bile tele-copters, we have been presented with a newfangled fancy double-decker NJT train. We were agog at how swanky it looked when it pulled into the station, and when someone asked, “Is this the train to New York City?” Pookie replied, “No, it’s the train to the moon!”

We made it just in time for the opening announcements. Our seats rock (thanks, Morgan!), and the boys are CLEARLY happy to see us — it’s already 2-0, and Paulie has a PP goal and Pando an assist. WOOOOOO!!!!

We’re on the train now on a high state of pommerdoodleage as Pando was named Second star and Paulie First! We’ll write more about this most perfect of games when we alit back at stately IPB Manor.

UPDATE

Okay, we’ll admit it — the new Devils arena is awesome. Of course, it could have been a giant cardboard box for how much we enjoyed the game itself tonight. Thanks, Devils, for finally not sucking when we were in the house while you were taking on the Hartford/Carolina franchise! We would totally look up the statbits proving we’ve seen only blowout losses against the Canes in person, but we’re lazy, and they’d probably prove us wrong anyway.

It proved to be more difficult to update this post during the game than we anticipated, so we apologize for its lameness. We think it might have been distracting that Pando and Paulie kept scoring all the time. Or something. Anyway, we have all kinds of exciting things to report on, and maybe even photographic evidence to prove we attended a game in person, but that will all have to wait until tomorrow. We’re too busy now celebrating in the streets of the capitol cities of PandoNation and PaulieMartinNation.
