We have, until this very day, considered ourselves infallible. But something happened between when we left our respective workplaces and when we arrived home that has shaken us to our very cores. That’s right, Gentle Reader — we received an email from Versus:
I want to give a big thank you to everyone that helped out with the Versus’ NHL All-Star campaign. We mailed out the packages so you should be getting yours in the mail sometime late this week or next week depending on where you live. … Thanks again and I hope we can work together on future campaigns to come!
This is not an easy thing to say, Gentle Reader, but it seems we were wrong. We were wrong to malign Versus, we were wrong to doubt they were going to send us a goody bag for shamelessly advertising their All-Star programming, and we were wrong to whore ourselves out to C-SPAN to get back at them. (Aside: C-SPAN, why don’t you call?) For all those things, we are deeply, deeply sorry. And yes, Versus, we can’t wait to work together on future campaigns to come. (Let’s start, shall we, with your campaign to get Janssen, Pelley and Greene traded to Tampa for Lecavalier? What’s that? That’s our campaign and not yours? No, we’re pretty sure you mentioned it first…)
Seriously, Gentle Reader, we can’t wait to get that Playoff Tracker Potato.
