Is it the second-to-last game already? Where does the time go? It’s still sunny out as we settle down for tonight’s game, so we guess that means it’s time for the playoffs to be starting. It’s still sad, though.
The intro tonight features Doc and Chico calling the Zubrus/Rupp/Clarkson line the “Paymasters” because “they make people pay.” What, “ZRC Welders” didn’t do it for them? They also try to suggest this line is comparable to the Crash Line, but chortlingly back away from the point after floating it. Don’t go giving us Stanley Cup hope, guys. We’ll fall for anything.
Oh, and we hope Bucky Gleason hasn’t bet his house, car, kids and dog on Briere being a world-beater tonight, because Buffalo’s erstwhile captain and alleged valiant leader is not playing tonight. Philly must be so glad to be paying him all that money.
19:05 It might be sunny outside, but it’s murky as hell on our TV. We think the black blobs are the Flyers and the white blobs are the Devils, but we might be wrong.
18:54 Marty is ready to go tonight, making an amazing, sliding, stacked-pad save on a two-on-one rush. One minute and six seconds ago we were thinking Weekes should have started. We take that back.
