This is the ninth in our summer series where we are drawing hockey cards at random from a box and then writing about them.
In a little under 12 hours IPB will be hitting the road to take Ottawa and the 2008 NHL Draft by storm. This means, in addition to meeting alix, Heather, Hockeygirl, Meg, and Patty, we’ll be seeing tons of little NHL-hopefuls getting called up to the stage. Four years ago, some bloggers took their first trip to the NHL Draft and saw this player taken 25th:
Who will be our Rob Schremp? It could be anyone! No, really, since we’ve done absolutely zero research about the Draft (we’ve heard a thing or two about some Stamkoses and some Filitovs but that’s literally it) the next Rob Schremp could be anyone. The suspense is killing us! Will the Devils trade down to get the 25th pick? Will the Devils even remember they’re supposed to be drafting anyone? Will the Devils’ pick ever actually see playing time in Newark? Will we run into Rob Schremp so we can get his autograph? Will the Devils trade down to the 25th spot and get Rob Schremp himself as part of the deal? Will we call whoever the Devils draft this year “Rob Schremp” for his whole career?* The possibilities are endless!
Whatever happens, we’ll be there. We might not be blogging live from the arena, but we hope to be checking in with daily reports from our travels.
*Almost certainly yes.
