This is the eleventh in our summer series where we are drawing hockey cards at random from a box and then writing about them.
Take One:
Ugh.
*Clank!*
This is the eleventh in our summer series where we are drawing hockey cards at random from a box and then writing about them.
Take Two:
That’s better.

Ha ha! No love for LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU?
Agreed.
Yeah, my Brodeur-lovin’ heart doesn’t have a lot of room for the other Vezina-nominated goalies out there. :D
Awwwww! My poor greasy head case of a goalie. Don’t worry Lui, I love you. :D
Marty St Louis is bite sized!
I would say that Marty St. Louis is snack-sized, but that’s Sarge Brylin’s thing. St. Louis will just have to be bite-sized.
(And I didn’t feel to bad hating on Luongo here because I knew you’d make up for it, alix. :D)
You’re so sweet thinking of me, Schnookie. :D
Marty St Louis is bite sized!
He’s a bite-sized frosted mini-wheat.
Give Luongo credit, he is from the same neighborhood as Marty, and probably got his power from breathing Brodeur family air. He has played on streets and in arena’s that had been graced by Marty himself – probably absorbing the young Marty vibes and using them to develop his own super powers.
Also Marty did not deserve the Vezina this year because Roberto was so awesome – oh wait! That’s right – Roberto was not nominated.
The other goalies do not scare me.
Also, I think you missed an important chance to turn a Luongo card into a wonderful Marty based story about growing up in St Leonard – a story of the “Are you there Martin? It’s me, Roberto” variety.
Q-girl, I think you’re right. We were thinking WAY too literally when we pulled this card last night!
And good morning, everyone! How are we all doing on this fine, fine Wednesday?
Schnookie, I’m doing well – how are you! Meant to tell you that the new framed needlework looks fabulous, as well. :D
St. Louis is the size of a tater tot, I swear.
Good morning, all! It’s a beautiful morning here, but it would be a lot better if I could just have a 15 minute nap. I’m exhausted for some reason.
I’m exhausted, too, Amy! It must be all this travel we’ve been doing lately! :D
I actually have a tendency not to think that Marty St. Louis is that small, since he’s bigger than Gionta. I’m like, “Look at that giant tiny guy over there! He manages to stay onsides most of the time…”
I actually have a tendency not to think that Marty St. Louis is that small, since he’s bigger than Gionta.
I agree. Gio has ruined me for all the tiny guys in the League.
Good morning, everyone! It’s a gorgeous day here today — it almost feels like September.
It does feel like September. I totally thought as I was walking to my car this morning that we should be harvesting our peaches soon. I was also like, “Hey. It feels like summer’s ending, and I haven’t had a tomato yet!” I’m currently going back and rereading some of our early-season game diaries, so it’s not helping me get rid of this end-of-summer feeling.
This weather is totally fucking with me! It’s not even July 1st yet!
It’s a beautiful morning here, but it would be a lot better if I could just have a 15 minute nap.
Same here.
Hey Ookies! I’m off from work today! Yeaaaah!
The cat is sick and needs to go to the vet. Drat!
Actually, she’s getting up there in age and I am more than a little worried so I would gladly give up a day off to get her checked up.
As for Luongo, I will always remember his trade from the Islanders as Mad Mike’s greatest “Whaaaaaaaat?” moment ever.
I’m so sorry your cat’s sick, Morgan! I hope everything goes well at the vet.
I think it’s interesting that Luongo is, like, the benchmark idiotic trade for TWO franchises. What are the chances of that? Heh.
Aw, Morgan, sorry about the cat! I hope she’s okay! (If you want two more, you can have the ones that woke me up at 5 am this morning by taking running leaps at my bedroom door.)
Luongo just seems to bring out the best in his GMs!
Hey Ookies, if TSN is to be believed, Vinny’s going to sign a 9-year, 77 million dollar deal with the Lightning. Looks like Vinny-to-NJ is no longer a reality, for which I am very sorry.
I’m also sorry about your cat, Morgan. I hope she gets better!
I can’t believe it’s already 17:30 here. Where did my day go?
if TSN is to be believed, Vinny’s going to sign a 9-year, 77 million dollar deal with the Lightning.
Well, I hope that works out for him. But I think it’s stupid. (mostly because then he can’t come to lovely, lovely NJ. Boo Vinny, boo)
Looks like Vinny-to-NJ is no longer a reality, for which I am very sorry.
Oh, that’s just a 9-year, $77M deal that the Devils are going to swap Gionta for. No worries! The Lightning are just taking care of getting him under lifetime contract for us before we acquire him. :P
Oh, that’s just a 9-year, $77M deal that the Devils are going to swap Gionta for.
Hee. I’m sure Gionta will feel very flattered at the thought of being swapped for Vinny.
Surely the new circus-sideshow ownership group realizes the appeal of having Gio and St. Louis on a line together. I mean, who wouldn’t pay good moneys to see that? The Gio-for-Vinny deal can’t fail! For either team! It’s PERFECT! :P
if TSN is to be believed, Vinny’s going to sign a 9-year, 77 million dollar deal with the Lightning.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.
*cough* Ahem, sorry. Oh, Vinny.
..if TSN is to be believed, Vinny’s going to sign a 9-year, 77 million dollar deal with the Lightning.
Just goes to prove the stereo-type that the really pretty ones aren’t always the smartest. Money ain’t everything when you have to work with a bunch of nuts.
How is everyone’s day going? Hub is in Crunchy land today. Think positive thoughts at 4pm est, he has a big presentation then. Hoping if all goes well, they will decide to keep him here!!!
Morgan, ditto on hoping your cat is ok.
Oooh! I hope everything goes great in Crunchyland, Myra!
And I’ll concede this one point to Vinny — he’s very, very involved in the community in Tampa, so if that’s why he wants to stay, I won’t mock his choice. I’ll mourn it, but not mock it. (I suspect this is kind of a Marty-esque decision on his part. He’s already won a Cup, he likes where he lives, he’s not under constant, brutal media scrutiny and can probably go unrecognized when he wants to, and he’s put down roots in the area. SIGH. Doesn’t he realize he can have all those things in NJ? I’d float that he’d also have a chance to win in NJ, which he won’t have in Tampa, but I don’t think “being a prerennial first-round casualty” is really that much better than “being a complete train wreck until all those first-overall picks come to fruition” in the grand scheme of things.)
Hoping if all goes well, they will decide to keep him here!!!
Crossing my fingers for y’all, Myra! I hope all goes well for Hubbie.
Cat’s not in Crunchy-Land, but last time I checked, she was in Iowa, havin’ fun on her roadtrip to Minnesota.
Man, it’s been a busy morning! And that Vinny deal makes my head hurt for some reason… seriously.
Myra, I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
I hope Hossa feels like an idiot asking for over 8 mil when Vinny’s getting 8.5.
He’s already won a Cup, he likes where he lives, he’s not under constant, brutal media scrutiny and can probably go unrecognized when he wants to, and he’s put down roots in the area.
Gee, you’d think I would have thought along those lines first, considering my personal situation. But no, I just saw a pretty face and jumped to the closest “Don Imus” conclusion I could make. :P
Hope Cat is having a good time in Iowa. It’s very jigsaw puzzle picturesque there. We went on a roadtrip to Wisconsin with Hub’s family when Grace was five. It was not my idea. :)
Hossa’s like, “Hey, just because he’s dumb enough to take a hometown discount doesn’t mean I have to be.” To which those Pens fans who were all like, “He’ll sign a one-year deal! For minimum wage! He loves us! Shero doesn’t do rentals!” are like, “Ummm…”
But no, I just saw a pretty face and jumped to the closest “Don Imus” conclusion I could make.
Oh, I’m sure it’s safe to assume he’s an airhead, too! :D
I feel kinda bad for the Pens fans though. Didn’t Hossa initially come out and say, “Hey, I’m committed to staying and I want to work with management to find a good solution” and then went into “Whatevs, money!” mode?
That would suck a lot, if you were a fan.
It’s good to know everyone isn’t predicting the Stars to have big UFA signings. I pretty much could’ve told you that (Avery rumors aside), but I want to know who’s leaving, dammit! They’re not going to resign everyone, I don’t think. :/
Didn’t Hossa initially come out and say, “Hey, I’m committed to staying and I want to work with management to find a good solution” and then went into “Whatevs, money!” mode?
I don’t think any rental player should be held to the immediately-after-a-great-playoff-run love-fest comments he utters. :P (Also, a lot of the “He’s going to stay with us for $500K a year!” comments were before Hossa piped up at all about what his plans were.)
I am also starting to get VERY anxious about who the Devils are keeping, and there are only two significant UFAs on the team. Sniff, sniff. :(
I am also starting to get VERY anxious about who the Devils are keeping, and there are only two significant UFAs on the team. Sniff, sniff. :(
We have a bunch this year. I know Hagman and Miettinen are the ones I’m worried about the most. Hagman’s a better player than Mittens, but I’ll be damned if I want to see Mittens waltz out the proverbial door.
Jeez, I hope everything works out well for those two significant UFAs. *knock on wood* Poor Schnookie!
Mr. Mittens just can’t leave the Stars! He can’t! That would be terrible!
I am pretty blase about one of our UFAs (Brylin, who actually has a player option for next year if he wants it, as well as a team option for next year if they do), but, needless to say, paralyzed with fear about the other (Pando).
So how does this July 1st thing work? After the 1st, they can negotiate with whomever they want or what? And when do they have to have everything decided?
After the 1st, it’s a free-for-all, and players have all the way until the trade deadline next season to be eligible to play in the postseason with their new teams (like Forsberg).
Mr. Mittens just can’t leave the Stars! He can’t! That would be terrible!
Who else can I make Vulcan jokes about? Jeez. Mittens and his high cheekbones shouldn’t leave, but by all accounts, it might be likely.
After the 1st, they can negotiate with whomever they want or what? And when do they have to have everything decided?
Yup. We do have some additional space under the cap, if I remember correctly, because Norstrom retired in the last year of his contract – $4.25 million/year – so we have that. And if Barnes is going to retire, that’ll free up a little extra space, too, but then again, the Stars may not want to keep some people. I don’t think they’re actually looking to resign everyone who’s a UFA right now – we have like 7 or 8 guys who are possibilities.
I like Mr. Mittens a lot, he seems pretty tough for a kinda small guy. While I don’t love seeing him get hit, I do love the way he can just pop back up like nothing happened. Tough little dude.
However, I freakin’ love watching Hagman play, he’s a full-bore maniac on the ice. I can’t stand the thought of him leaving.
After the 1st, it’s a free-for-all, and players have all the way until the trade deadline next season to be eligible to play in the postseason with their new teams (like Forsberg).
Ack! I was hoping for something like until the end of training camp or something like that. :(
Ack! I was hoping for something like until the end of training camp or something like that. :(
Oh, most of the signings are done LONG before training camp. Technically the teams can keep adding players (as their cap allows) all season, but for the most part, everything’s pretty settled by the time camps open.
most of the signings are done LONG before training camp.
Most of the signings are done before July 3, even.
Here’s to hoping that next Tuesday isn’t as wacky as last year’s FA day.
Dude, last year was insane. Although last year was also personally relevant to a lot of us here. I suspect this year will be a lot tamer just because, unlike last year, the biggest four UFA names out there aren’t coming from the Devils and Sabres. :D
most of the signings are done LONG before training camp.
Most of the signings are done before July 3, even.
Yeah, at least it will be over. This slowly pulling off the bandaide with Dave’s company is driving me crazy.
This slowly pulling off the bandaide with Dave’s company is driving me crazy.
I can’t even imagine how hard that must be. My department was part of a big reorg last Fall that lingered on through the Winter, where there was a lot of uncertainty and rampant speculation, but nowhere near as immediate a Sword of Damocles as y’all are under right now. I’m so sorry!
Myra, I’m so sorry they’re dragging it out!
UFA Day is strangely unsatisfying. I get all excited and worked up over who’s moved where and then I realize it’ll be MONTHS before I see any of the players on their new teams. Then I get sad. :(
You know what makes me glad, though? I just got a free can of Diet Coke! Woo-hoo! I never get free sodas here! In fact, I never get sodas here (we don’t have a vending machine and the sodas at the local pizza place cost an arm and a leg). This is making me irrationally happy. I can’t decide if I want to drink it now or save it for supper.
I just got a free can of Diet Coke! Woo-hoo!…I can’t decide if I want to drink it now or save it for supper.
Yea for free soda! I say drink it now! To heck with delayed gratification. Highly over-rated.
Yeah, free soda! I could do with some free soda now, my mitten knitting is kicking my ass.
Myra, I’m really sorry your Hubby’s company is doing this all dragged out style. My dad went through a long period (like, what, 6 months or something?) where the company he worked for at the time wanted to buy him out of his contract, but they couldn’t find grounds to on account of he wasn’t doing anything wrong and they went to court and everything. In the end they settled, but the whole process was incredibly nerve wracking. Which sucked. So I guess what I’m saying is, I sorta know what you feel like, and I’m sorry, because it’s ass.
Don’t know if this has been mentioned yet but the Canucks picked up Wellwood. And we offloaded McGrattan to the Coyotes!
You know what makes me glad, though? I just got a free can of Diet Coke! Woo-hoo!
Awesome! Free grub is the best! :D
And we offloaded McGrattan to the Coyotes!
Yay for you!
So I guess what I’m saying is, I sorta know what you feel like, and I’m sorry, because it’s ass.
Thanks Mags, sounds like you really know what I’m talking about. If they don’t tell him something on this trip, we may have to tranquilize the Kid (and me and Hub).
Don’t know if this has been mentioned yet but the Canucks picked up Wellwood.
Really? Huh. (Sorry alix!)
And we offloaded McGrattan to the Coyotes!
Nice! That’s a relief, no? (Sorry KG!)
Nice! That’s a relief, no? (Sorry KG!)
Yes and it was pretty expected though. Not that it helps much since he didn’t eat up that much salary anyways. I’ll be even more relieved once we figure out poor defense and goaltending situation. Can free agency just start already? I’m ready for the frenzy.
If they don’t tell him something on this trip, we may have to tranquilize the Kid (and me and Hub).
Yeah, that happened here too. I’m really sorry! It’ll be ok in the end, promise.
Can free agency just start already? I’m ready for the frenzy.
No, do not want. The summer is so looooong. Seriously, 3 more weeks till goalie camp starts. I’m dyyyyiiiiing *collapses on the floor like the drama queen she be*
*pokes Mags with a stick* You okay there? Do you NOT want goalie camp to start? Because the sooner free agency starts, the sooner summer doesn’t seem…as long? Does this make sense?
Also the Senators prospects camp is this week and our new draft pick Karlsson is sporting something resembling a mullet. It’s a little unsettling. Also, they have a gallery up of the kids, including one of our favourite Dane. Sans shirt.
There was a disheartening number of mullets on display among the Draft boys in Ottawa. I think that was the most troubling (and most silent) trend we saw. NOT COOK, DRAFT BOYS. I realize they were all born AFTER the ’80s, but even if they’re ironic mullets, they’re bad, bad, bad. (It should be noted that none of the Devils picks we paid attention to had mullets. And neither did my BFF Geordie.)
3 more weeks till goalie camp starts.
Is this the goalie camp where they cut you off from civilization by taking your phone, laptop and other electronics?
Sherry, it must be prospect camp time, as the Sabres started theirs today. I’m impressed with the kids still in high school and college that make it to camp, considering they have to pay their own way, while the post-college and “pros” get their transportation and such taken care of.
Huh. Who the fuck is Wellwood?
And dudes, stop insulting Tampa. It’s going to be like my second home in a few years. :D :D :D
The Canucks prospect camp is on this week too. All the boys look very buff. And well spoken in interviews…
I realize they were all born AFTER the ’80s, but even if they’re ironic mullets, they’re bad, bad, bad.
I know! When will they realize that even ironic mullets are NOT cook, no matter how you slice (cut?) it. Look at what you’ve started Melrose. LOOK AT IT.
I’m impressed with the kids still in high school and college that make it to camp, considering they have to pay their own way, while the post-college and “pros” get their transportation and such taken care of.
Really? I did not know that! Good on those kids, that dedication is inspiring. I think the boys today are going to be at the Ottawa Dragon Boat festival, which I really wanted to go to but if the prospects were going to be there I probably wouldn’t have been paying attention at all to the actual race.
And dudes, stop insulting Tampa. It’s going to be like my second home in a few years. :D :D :D
Yes, and when that happens you’re totally going to hook your IPB friends up, right? :D
Really? I did not know that! Good on those kids, that dedication is inspiring.
I agree.
Who the fuck is Wellwood?
Is he the guy that breaks more often than Timmy Connolly?
Really? I did not know that!
Yeah . . . if the team pays for anything then the kids lose their NCAA elegibility so they have to pay for everything on their own.
Is he the guy that breaks more often than Timmy Connolly?
Yup.
And dudes, stop insulting Tampa. It’s going to be like my second home in a few years. :D :D :D
Hopefully Smitty and Jussi will still be there because dudes are awesome. :D
alix, I don’t think I’ve seen you since the draft but a big round of congratulations to your cousin!
Dammit, the Sharks are resigning Roenick. Sigh.
Is he the guy that breaks more often than Timmy Connolly?
Yes, whose physique has recently been described as “Pillsbury Doughboy-like”. He actually said that he doesn’t work out in the off-season because Wayne Gretzky never did. Hokay there, boy. *pat pat*
He actually said that he doesn’t work out in the off-season because Wayne Gretzky never did.
Wow! That’s AWESOME! I think I’m in love! Have fun with him, alix. :P
Hopefully Smitty and Jussi will still be there because dudes are awesome. :D
Not a big Smitty fan, but Jussi is ADORABLE!
I don’t think I’ve seen you since the draft but a big round of congratulations to your cousin!
Thanks, Caitlin! We’re(my family) all pretty excited.
And for what it’s worth, the Lightning have been absolute class to my cousin and his immediate family so far, so maybe the recent gong show being portrayed in the media is a little overblown. Or maybe they’re just really good at hiding it… :D
That’s good to hear, Alix. :D
Is he the guy that breaks more often than Timmy Connolly?
Yup.
Yes, whose physique has recently been described as “Pillsbury Doughboy-like”. He actually said that he doesn’t work out in the off-season because Wayne Gretzky never did. Hokay there, boy. *pat pat*
Well that sounds extremely promising. And do we really want a guy that the LEAFS didn’t want? *Sigh*
Isn’t Wellwood the guy who doesn’t own a TV? That’s pretty cool.
alix, did your cousin mention what’s in the duffle bags the draft boys were given?
And do we really want a guy that the LEAFS didn’t want? *Sigh*
alix, it’s ALWAYS a good sign when you’re dealing with a player the Leafs don’t want. I mean, considering what caliber of player they DO want.
Not a big Smitty fan, but Jussi is ADORABLE!
Hee! Jussi and his broken English are awesome. Plus, I swear, Jussi takes quite possibly the most ovary-exploding pictures with children. Aside from Mittens, but that’s another story.
And for what it’s worth, the Lightning have been absolute class to my cousin and his immediate family so far
That is so good to hear! I hope Tampa’s a good fit for him!
Woah, I went away to walk the dog, sorry bout that.
Is this the goalie camp where they cut you off from civilization by taking your phone, laptop and other electronics?
Si! Although judging by the amount of gold paraphernalia I have amassed I may be able to catch radio waves and communicate with the outside world that way.
And do we really want a guy that the LEAFS didn’t want? *Sigh*
That was pretty much my first thought when I read the news…
Isn’t Wellwood the guy who doesn’t own a TV? That’s pretty cool.
He might be. I should probably cut Wellwood some slack because by all accounts from people I know who’ve met him, he’s a nice enough guy and he is extremely talented but he just doesn’t really devote himself as much as he should. Scott Burnside also wrote this really great article about him and how his father suffers from bipolar disorder.
I feel sorry for my friend who only bought a Wellwood jersey last year though.
alix, did your cousin mention what’s in the duffle bags the draft boys were given?
Oooh. No he didn’t! I should ask him.
Plus, I swear, Jussi takes quite possibly the most ovary-exploding pictures with children.
Awwww! I love that in a hockey player!
alix, it’s ALWAYS a good sign when you’re dealing with a player the Leafs don’t want. I mean, considering what caliber of player they DO want.
That’s a very good way of looking at it!
I read that Burnside column last year and decided that I totally loved Wellwood based on it. I suppose I shouldn’t base my decisions about the on-ice value of players on articles like that one… :P
And seriously, alix, you MUST find out what was in the duffel bags! I’m DYING to know!
Scott Burnside also wrote this really great article about him and how his father suffers from bipolar disorder.
I remember reading that. I had a friend in high school who’s father was a manic depressive, and he always had a very hard time dealing with his dad’s “moments”. So mad props to Kyle for getting to where he is, even if he breaks a whole bunch.
So mad props to Kyle for getting to where he is, even if he breaks a whole bunch.
You know who breaks even more than he does though? Carlo Colaiacovo. The guy cannot walk outside without suffering some kind of injury. Why haven’t they done anything about HIM yet?
Oh and there’s word that Redden might be interested in the Rangers. I think I hate the Rangers even more now, if that’s even possible. And they haven’t done anything yet!
How much money can the Rangers POSSIBLY have? Where are all these UFA salaries that they’re supposedly shelling out this summer going to be coming from? I mean, getting Jagr off their books is only going to free up the amount of part of his salary because Washington was paying for most of him (and everyone seems to think Jagsie’s staying in NY anyway)… I hope they tie up as many names this summer as they possibly can, because I don’t think there’s anyone on the market who’s going to make them much better.
Oh and there’s word that Redden might be interested in the Rangers.
Christ, everyone and their living room curtains is interested in the Rangers. This is BULLSHIT.
I don’t know, I think a Redden-Campbell top pairing sounds AMAZING. Let’s make this happen.
I think a Redden-Campbell top pairing sounds AMAZING.
Well they are both All-Stars…
By Jove, you’re right! Sure, Ottawa had high expectations but I don’t think the New York media will be a walk in the park either.
It’s sad Redden and I have now come to this. *sigh*
Granted, Wade has to keep underachieving. If he starts performing well, the deal’s off.
Jussi takes quite possibly the most ovary-exploding pictures with children.
I think mine exploded last week after seeing Paul Gaustad in a tux with kids at a benefit dinner.
everyone and their living room curtains
For some reason, this expression made me laugh hysterically.
Scott Burnside also wrote this really great article about him and how his father suffers from bipolar disorder.
So mad props to Kyle for getting to where he is, even if he breaks a whole bunch.
Well that makes it hard to hate him. And who knows, maybe the wake up call of getting put on waivers plus a change of scenery will do him good. It’s not liking the Canucks are bursting with offensive forwards either…
And seriously, alix, you MUST find out what was in the duffel bags! I’m DYING to know!
I’m on the case!
I think Wade Redden is a perfect fit for the Devils. I mean, based on how he’s played against us all these years, he’s clearly VERY committed to improving Devils scoring…

Granted, Wade has to keep underachieving. If he starts performing well, the deal’s off.
Well, clearly. Of course my greatest fear is that he experiences somewhat of a career renaissance while signing for a reasonably affordable price. I’m thinking he’ll probably go for somewhere in the $5 million range.
For some reason, this expression made me laugh hysterically.
Oh, and thank you Amy :)
Sherry, I feel exactly the same way about Max Afinogenov. Whether it’s this year or next year, when he leaves he’ll go off and have a fabulous season. I know this for a fact.
I feel exactly the same way about Max Afinogenov. Whether it’s this year or next year, when he leaves he’ll go off and have a fabulous season. I know this for a fact.
I’m ok with that, really . . . except for the fact that we’ll then have to hear all about how Darcy was an idiot for letting him go.
I’m ok with that, really . . . except for the fact that we’ll then have to hear all about how Darcy was an idiot for letting him go.
Exactly. I’m okay with Max moving on and I’d be happy to see him succeed but yes, it’s all the people currently griping that he’s STILL ON THE TEAM WAH WAH WAH who would suddenly do anything to have him back who will get on my nerves big style.
Maybe it would be like when Guerin was sent to Edmonton and proceeded to kick ass. Everyone was like, “What was Lou thinking?! Ha ha ha!” Devils fans everywhere merely said, “Wait for it…” And look how that turned out!
It’ll all end with me and Meg beating up Max at the draft some day :P
It’ll all end with me and Meg beating up Max at the draft some day :P
Oooooh. I bet he won’t even flinch, Super Russian Spy that he is.
True. Max will probably break out some crazy Russian jujitsu that no one even knows exists.
It’ll all end with me and Meg beating up Max at the draft some day :P

Pookie, Mark finally noticed the bag full of Wire DVDs on the table last night and said, “I sure hope these were on sale for an amazingly cheap price!”
Heather, fuuuuuuny story… Look at that hobo! (It was worth it, though!)
It’ll all end with me and Meg beating up Max at the draft some day :P
:^:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: That’s the best possible outcome of every UFA leaving town. Or every malcontent being traded.
Hey everybody. Quick cat update. She’s been kept for tests at the vet hospital. So far the tests on her kidneys, and liver came back good, but this also leaves the vets stumped as to why she won’t eat. Besides the fact she is old with a thyroid problem in the first place.
It is getting expensive to keep her in “hospital”, and if something isn’t found PDQ, Liz and I have a difficult decision on our hands.
Sigh.
Oh Morgan, I’m so sorry! It’s so difficult when veterinary care becomes so expensive. I hope a solution comes up quickly for you. (And thanks for sharing the update — keep us apprised!)
I’m so sorry, Morgan. That’s such a hard situation.
Sorry, Morgan. That’s really tough.
I’m so sorry, Morgan!
We talk a big game about putting a cap on the vet bills, but when wee Sugarfoot got ill, we blew it out of the water. It’s so hard not to think, “but he/she is just a defenseless animal!”
So sorry about your little cat, Morgan! I hope things turn out okay.
Go ride your bike into traffic ladies. No one defies Roberto Luongo!
