Oh, man, I had “If You Know The Rangers Suck” stuck in my head all day!
Group Hug! Until Wednesday, of course. :D
Woo hoo!
The Stars are my favorite team, too! ALWAYS!
That’s a great song to have in your head, especially when it’s true! My favorite part of the game was when those two Rangers ran into each other behind the Stars net. I’m replaying that in my mind all night now. :D
I’m glad to see Turco woke up for the Rangers. Can he hit snooze for one more game then stay up for the rest of the season?
Can he hit snooze for one more game then stay up for the rest of the season?
Every Stars Fan Everywhere: “Oh, please God, no.”
OH MY GOD. What was Liam Neeson doing at the Rangers game last night? Liam, please tell me you’re not a Rangers fan.
:sob:
Can he hit snooze for one more game then stay up for the rest of the season?
:^:::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Good morning, everyone! It’s another beautiful day here (in Dallas). How’s everyone else this fine morning? (I can say this because tomorrow around noon I’m going to go into “Stupid Dallas! Yay Devils!”) (Just kidding!)
Sean Avery did his very best to be a nonfactor. I did enjoy seeing him talk some shit with Valiquette and Dubinsky in the pregame skate though.
Stars vs. Devils prediction: First to two wins.
Can he hit snooze for one more game then stay up for the rest of the season?
Every Stars Fan Everywhere: “Oh, please God, no.”
We just got him to wake up, sorry, but no can do!
Sean Avery did his very best to be a nonfactor.
Avery was very surprising last night.
It’s another beautiful day here (in Dallas).
Here’s to tomorrow being just as lovely. :P
Avery was very surprising last night.
I guess that Avery took the entire Stars team out to dinner after last night’s game. Is he trying to be a good egg?
One can only guess with Avery.
My guess is that the Stars have Avery on a very tight leash as of late, and part of the reason his play has been lacking is that he’s had difficulty adjusting. Then again, it’s Avery so who knows.
I’m catching a little of the Sabres game before I head off to Bunco. And while I have never had the pleasure of watching a Buffalo game before, for some reason, I seem to know most of the players’ names. Hmmm.
Hee hee! Isn’t the internet fun? You learn about the strangest things!
while I have never had the pleasure of watching a Buffalo game before, for some reason, I seem to know most of the players’ names.
Hee. They’re a memorable sort, aren’t they?
How’s life (in Dallas), Ookies?
WOOO!! My team is a giant pile of puke! And goodness it’s boring playing the Blue Jackets.
Sorry I didn’t see your question sooner, Amy! Life (in Dallas) is AWESOME! We’re having a BLAST! (Until tomorrow when we’re fighting like cats and dogs.) How’s life now that you’re recuperating? You doing okay now?
Oh and alix, your team isn’t a pile of puke! They’re just… um… Look at that hobo?
They’re just… um… Look at that hobo?
Hee! Indeed. But they’re all of a sudden playing with a little jazz. Maybe I just need to keep calling them a pile of puke.
You just sit there yelling at the tv, “You’re a pile of puke! You’re a pile of puke!” In a few minutes it won’t even make sense.
You just sit there yelling at the tv, “You’re a pile of puke! You’re a pile of puke!” In a few minutes it won’t even make sense.
Sounds like a plan to me. :)
I could really use a Sabres win today with the way my day is going. Just saying.
Geez. The Canucks are suddenly throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Leclaire. Darn him and his crazy saves.
Aw, Meg, I’m sorry about your day!
Me too, Meg!
Oh boys, why do you tease me like that. *Sigh*
alix, what’s the score? And did I see that Wellwood got called back up?
Patty: Kejci scored on Crunchy!
Schnookie: I feel like I’ve gone through the looking glass!
Aw, Meg, I’m sorry about your day!
Me too, Meg!
I have bedbugs you guys! It’s super duper gross. Thanks for your sympathy though. All the whining I’m doing is helping a bit.
And the fact that Sabres have at least a point here.
Bedbugs?!? That’s so nasty! Did you bring them back from the Adirondacks? I’m SO sorry!
Patty: Kejci scored on Crunchy!
Schnookie: I feel like I’ve gone through the looking glass!
Heee.
I really hope Crunchy gets the coveted pigeon tonight. He played a fantastic game.
Did you bring them back from the Adirondacks? I’m SO sorry!
Oh, no they way predate the Adirondacks (and you wouldn’t really get them there anyway since they like to live where they can suck human blood). I thought I had hives and was having an allergic reaction to my bed. So I stripped off the mattress cover and ew! bugs.
And I thought, “but my house isn’t dirty,” but it turns out that dirtiness is irrelevant when it comes to bedbugs. The exterminator is coming tomorrow.
Meg, that is so gross! I am SO, SO, SO, SO SORRY! You’re having such a tough year with bugs in your apartment!
alix, what’s the score? And did I see that Wellwood got called back up?
It was 3-1 going into the 3rd. They came out like they were on speed in the 3rd and made it 3-2, but just couldn’t beat Leclaire right at the end. He robbed a Sedin and a Bernier. They Rick Nash got an empty netter to make it 4-2.
And yes, Wellwood did get called up because Demitra is made of cotton candy and gumdrops and duct tape. He had 2 points, and finally got our disgusting power play rolling. Heh. And this was after not skating for 5 days. He’s the weirdest player ever, I swear!
Wait, I have Demitra. Are my BoxPanners made of candy floss, gumdrops and duct tape? NO! Seriously, though, sorry about your team, alix!
Meg, that is so gross! I am SO, SO, SO, SO SORRY! You’re having such a tough year with bugs in your apartment
Heh. Well I guess that at least I know these are real. Unlike the ringworm which turned out to not be ringworm after all. I’m not sure that real bugs are actually preferable to fantasy fungi though. I think Pyramus is like, “I swear, it’s not me this time. I’m perfect and fabulous.” Of course, he’s also going on a little vacation to my roommate’s parents’ house on Long Island while they bomb my apartment, but he doesn’t know that yet.
But at least the Sabres won! Yay!
Hey guys!
alix, I can’t believe your team is being so douchey and so fragile. I’m so sorry!
And Meg, I am getting the willies thinking bedbugs — how AWFUL! Pyramus is going to be so smug when he gets back.
Pyramus is going to be so smug when he gets back.
It’s true, particularly because my roommate’s mother is going to spoil him rotten (and keep him away from their cat-loving Huskies who would de-smug him rather rapidly).
Hey, what is going on? I just turned on the Caps game and some how they are the PP for over six minutes. WTF happened?
and keep him away from their cat-loving Huskies who would de-smug him rather rapidly
:^:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Yeah, that would knock him down a notch or two. :P
Frisby, we also just turned on the game. I didn’t even realize they were on a giant power play. I’m not doing a very good job of paying attention to the games tonight. I didn’t register a single minute of the Sabres game, even though Patty’s got this enormous TV that I could see perfectly from the kitchen. Someday in March I’m going to look back on this night and be angry that I wasted a night of October hockey by not paying attention.
Yeah, next July I’m going to fly back out here and demand Patty give me a night of October hockey to make up for this!
I didn’t register a single minute of the Sabres game, even though Patty’s got this enormous TV that I could see perfectly from the kitchen.
Well games against Boston don’t exactly scream must see tv.
Well if you can’t tell me what happened, then Patty definitely owes you some October hockey in July!
You might be right, Meg. There’s just so much anticipation here for tomorrow’s big Devils/Stars matchup! Everything else pales in comparison!
Give the freaking puck up Calgary and get the 5 on 3! Sheesh!
Wait, I have Demitra. Are my BoxPanners made of candy floss, gumdrops and duct tape? NO! Seriously, though, sorry about your team, alix!
HA! Yup, I’m sorry. It’s true. Demitra has probably infected your whole team with his candy flossness.
Thanks for your sympathy about my gingerbread house-esque team.
If nothing else, gingerbread houses are delicious.
alix, I can’t believe your team is being so douchey and so fragile. I’m so sorry!
Thanks, Schnookie!
Hold on, … wait, …wait. You flew down to Dallas from New Jersey to see the Stars @ Devils on a big TV?
Well, it is quite a large TV… But no, months and months ago we thought, “We want to visit Patty in Dallas and the Stars play the Devils! Perfect!” Now that the game is less than 24 hours away I’m convinced we’re going to be driving to the airport in stony silence two minutes after the final buzzer! :D (Just kidding. I’m sure we can be reasonable adults regardless of the final score.)
Pookie, you make such a great point about gingerbread houses!
And I don’t think the original plan was to be here specifically for the Devils/Stars game. The Stars very helpfully had almost no home games this month, and we really wanted to be here in October; then we looked at the schedule and realized our options were Stars/Avs or Stars/Caps — while it’s definitely a choice between two evils, it’s also a no-brainer. Then we saw that the Stars would be in Jersey a few days after the Avs game, and we figured it would be a marvelous idea to fly out here to watch the Stars playing in Newark. :P
Frisby, looks like Rene Bourque got an instigator, fighting, unsportsmanlike conduct, and a game misconduct, all at the same time. 19 PIM all in one shot. Nearly a whole period of penalty minutes – I wonder what the record is?
Meg, I had bed bugs at a former apartment, so I know what you’re going through. Mrs. Redank and I got rid of them, so there is hope.

And then they called me and told me their flight info. :P
Meg, I’m so sorry you have bedbugs! Be sure and don’t let them bite! (Har!)
Just kidding. I’m sure we can be reasonable adults regardless of the final score.
Hm. We’ll see.
And then they called me and told me their flight info. :P
Heh. Pretty much, yeah. Be warned, IPB Irregulars — we might just email you out of the blue to tell you when we’re planning to crash at your place! :P
I am SO horrified by these bedbug stories. HORRIFIED. If I end up with bedbugs in my luggage from staying at Patty’s, she’s going to be sorry.
If I end up with bedbugs in my luggage from staying at Patty’s, she’s going to be sorry.
Oh yeah? Same to you!
Morning, everyone! Meg, if you’re around, I am so so sorry about those bedbugs. After everything you went through with the ringworm, now bedbugs?! Ick, I’m so sorry! :(
In other news, I am looking forward to watching tonight’s game. Yay! I actually feel motivated to watch even though I’m sick. Oh, boo.
I’m sorry about the bedbugs too, Meg! That’s so disgusting, my skin is crawling just thinking about it. Bah.
I so want to watch the game tonight, but I’d have to go to sleep right now, and then wake up again otherwise I won’t be awake for my mock exam tomorrow morning! Boo! (a mock that will still mean points on the actual exam if I do well, so yeah, I wanna do well)
Wow, Mags, it’s been dead in here for hours. You killed it but good this time. ;)
SSSHHHHH! We’re all mediating, picturing (multiple) pucks flying past Turco into the soft mesh behind him. Happy thoughts!
Dallas fans: I hope y’all enjoy the game, except for final score.

I don’t know. I might be too drugged to see the final score. NyQuil has a way of making me funny in the head.
Definite articles…who needs them?
Definite articles…who needs them?
Screw “a”, “an” and “the”. What have they done for me lately?!
You killed it but good this time. ;)
It went to take a nap with me :D
I might be too drugged to see the final score. My bravado is merely covering up my fear that I’ll want to be drugged when the score is final.
Sorry to hear you’re ill.
Carriage returns…
who
needs
them?!?!
I might be too drugged to see the final score.
I’m sorry! I suspect this’ll end up like redank says: me wanting to be drugged when the score is set. Egads, I’m really not looking forward to this game.
Egads, I’m really not looking forward to this game.
Dude, have you seen our team lately? If you were Stars fans, I’d be passing the NyQuil.
Thanks, redank. Man, I’m whiny when I’m on IPB huh? I have the beginnings of a cold, which is making me feel awful, but hey. If it’s the worst thing that ever happens to me, I’ll have lived a good life. :D
Dude, have you seen our team lately?

Poor baby ;)
Dude, have you seen our team lately?
Have you seen OUR team lately?
So, in other words, its going to be a fun night around here?
More fun than a barrel of monkeys. Wait, how much fun is a barrel of monkeys? Does anybody have any extra monkeys laying around.
Oh yes, Amy, extraordinarily fun. :/
Dude, have you seen our team lately?
Have you seen OUR team lately?
Add my team to this question. Heh. I’m glad I don’t have to watch them play until Saturday. I might have slit my wrists if I didn’t get a break from them.
Did everyone read the Swedish dildo story over on Puck Daddy? Hilarious!
WOOOOOOOOOOO! Stars vs. Devils! WOOOOOOO!!! Sigh. I think this is going to get ugly. It had better not go to a shootout is all I’ll say. Or rather, it had better not go to a shootout loss to the Devils is all I’ll say.
“Did everyone read the Swedish dildo story over on Puck Daddy? Hilarious!”
I’ve waited 31 years to hear this. Thank you.
That’s the kind of story, Greg, where you think, “It’s not going to get better than that, I should quit now.” But that would suck for the rest of us, so just keep dreaming of a story even better! What that story could possibly be, I don’t know. But I’m sure someone, somewhere, will think of something!
I’ve waited 31 years to hear this. Thank you.
You’re welcome! And I’ve waited my whole life to be able to say that in a blog comment, so thank you!
Great, I get home just in time to see that. Crappy, crappy day.
