It’s one of those terrible Saturdays where the NHL schedule and Pookie’s schedule have conspired to make us have to watch the Devils on significant tivo delay. Bummer. So here’s an open thread for all the thrills and chills of today’s hockey. We aren’t on radio silence, so we’ll be in and out.

No. That’s awful. :(
Yeah, it’s kind of a drag. Furthermore, all the other games we want to watch today are also in the afternoon. So I’m watching the Bruins (vaguely. I’m paying more attention to IMing with Pookie at work) while tivoing them along with the Devils, then watching the Ducks/Stars, then we’re watching the Devils at dinnertime, and if the Bruins win, I’ll re-watch that game with Pookie. There’s no way I avoid the Devils score, but I’m going to try. :D
Well good luck avoiding the score. We won’t spoil anything for you on here. :)
Considering I’m planning to watch two other games this afternoon, I don’t doubt I’ll be from the future when we get around to the Devils. But it’s worth a shot!
Being from the future can either be good or bad….I can’t decide. But I hate watching the Devils on delay. I can do it for other teams but not the Devils. They’re too important.
I hate watching the Devils on delay, too, and it was a very difficult choice today whether to leave the TV off even though I wanted to watch other games. I feel like I’m in suspended animation waiting for Pookie to get home from work, though, when I do that, so… from the future it is! :D
All this time I had the game on my calendar as being a night game. It came as quite a shock this week when I realized I was going to be working during it.
Oh gosh, I just saw Beaker’s post game interview, and man was he pissed! Poor little Beaker!
Beaker’s sad postgame interviews are so adorable. He’s just the most darling little thing. There isn’t any chance the Flyers want to trade him to the Devils, is there? :P
Maybe they’ll just waive him and you can pick him up that way…
Maybe they’ll just waive him and you can pick him up that way…
:^:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: That can totally happen! But they like doing that in pairs, so I think they should waive both Beaker and Farter.
so I think they should waive both Beaker and Farter.
But if that happens, who would you want the Devils to waive/demote/send to a farm upstate to make room for them?
Also, I saw the official Sidney Crosby Rbk line at the mall today. I can emphatically say Do. Not. Want. Why the league thought that Crosby gear would sell in the B-lo, I do not know.
Yeah, Homer will waive Beaker and Farter so he can clear cap space for JayBo!
But if that happens, who would you want the Devils to waive/demote/send to a farm upstate to make room for them?
For Beaker? Anyone not named Zach or Marty! :D
But if that happens, who would you want the Devils to waive/demote/send to a farm upstate to make room for them?
Hm. Let me think… let me think… :P
Yeah, Homer will waive Beaker and Farter so he can clear cap space for JayBo!
HAHAHAHAHA! What he should do is waive both goalies. :P
HAHAHAHAHA! What he should do is waive both goalies. :P
Uh, but that would make sense…
Uh, but that would make sense…
:^:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Right. I was saying to Pookie yesterday that there are only two certainties in life: hilariously awful Flyers goaltending and hilariously inept Flyers management. :P
And speaking of hilariously awful goaltending, ladies and gentlemen, Tim Thomas! Yeesh. Way to show up for OT, loser.
And speaking of hilariously awful goaltending, ladies and gentlemen, Tim Thomas! Yeesh
Yeesh, indeed. That was awful.
Is it too much to ask him to stop shots from outside the blue line? I thought he was, like, Mr. Vezina this year. Gah. Stupid Bruins. If the Flyers could beat the Caps, you’d think the Bruins could. :P
(Oh, and I am form the future, but I don’t know how the goals are scored, or even who scores all of them. Let me just say, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait to watch the game when Pookie gets home!)
Schnookie, thank you for popping in from the future. The Devils are getting a massive thank you from Buffalo fans right now. Hopefully the Avs will be able to do their civic duty as well and beat the Rangers.
Thomas was totally channeling Biron on that one…
You’re ever so welcome, Amy! :D (And here’s hoping the Rangers can keep doing their civic duty and keep sucking. Let alone the Avs doing their civic duty by winning. [Having seen how they played on Thursday, by the way, I'm not pinning much hope on Colorado...])
Thomas was totally channeling Biron on that one…
Or Hextall! (Yeah, I said it! :P)
Or Hextall!
:^::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
And WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! for the Devils! I can’t wait to watch the game!
We’re watching the Stars now, and Boomer is ready to cut the hands off whoever it is that keeps banging the glass.
It does seem unusually bad today. Some young punks, no doubt. Humph.
Boomer’s thinking that they should screen the people who buy those seats. “Are you a young man who will drink a lot? Sorry, you have to sit upstairs.” :P
Are you feeling better today, Myra? I mean, other than this game? (Still plenty of Brahms, though…)
Or not. Bummer, Stars fans. :(
Ugh.
I’m kinda glad I wasn’t at that game. My sister did come over and watch it here, though. I doubt she was impressed.
I thought you were going to the game, Patty. What happened?
I’m glad I wasn’t there. Hub would have probably had to restrain me at the end. Picking on my ice troll like that.
I had tickets to the wrong game, Myra! (I whined about it in the previous thread.)
They sent me the wrong ones, but I had a month and a half to notice it and never did.
Schnookie, I would feel a lot better if I could stop coughing. Thanks for asking.
Are you feeling better, Myra?
I’m so sorry, Patty! Seems like we did that with our Dallas Summer Musicial tickets one time. I’m not sure I would have looked at them either.
I can’t stop coughing. It is totally nonproductive and hurts.
I can’t stop coughing. It is totally nonproductive and hurts.
Ahhh, take me back to three weeks ago. :D
I’m so sorry. I know just how you feel. If it helps, I can say with authority that that eventually goes away.
I still find, to my horror, that a spoonful of sugar will calm a coughing fit. It’s better at night when you can go to sleep while it’s calmed, but it does work.
Ugh, that unproductive coughing is the worst! And on top of this game? What a day! I’m so sorry, Myra!
(Speaking of coughing… and sneezing… I just made chili powder. I feel so productive! And now Pookie’s home so we can watch the Devils!)
Have fun watching your game. Sounds like it should be a really good one.
Thanks, Myra! I suspect it will be! :D (I’m really sorry the Devils have been hogging all the good mojo lately, though. I mean, not too sorry, but you know…)
A spoonful of sugar also cured hiccups.
and helps the medicine go, the medicine go down, the medicine go down.
I feel like I’ve heard that medical advice somewhere before…
A literal spoonful of sugar is actually useful? I had no idea. I thought it was just a catchy tune.
Everyone please send happy “This is not Hank’s last game in a Sabres jersey” vibes towards Long Island.
Awww, Heather, I’m pretty sure it’s not Hank’s last game as a Sabre. I’m sending every mental vibe I’ve got, though, just to be sure.
A spoonful of sugar can keep Hank in Buffalo, it’s that magical!
Guerin’s not playing tonight so some sucker team picked him up again, I think.
I kind of want to hear Rick and Harry make up some more trade rumors.
I’m pretty sure it’s not Hank’s last game as a Sabre.
Same here. I’m more worried about it being Timmy’s last game as a Sabre.
What is it with everybody’s favorite players this season? It’s like there is a black cloud over all of them. I think we need to stock up on sugar, donuts, Sprite, giraffe food and pot roasts.
Ookies, Mark just whined, “I can’t handle hockey in standard def anymore! This is terrible!” He hasn’t even SEEN hockey in HD yet :P
I think we need to stock up on sugar, donuts, Sprite, giraffe food and pot roasts.
:^::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: It’s like that Mormon preparedness, but for hockey!
And someone got Guerin? Please don’t let it be us… Please don’t let it be us… Please don’t let it be us…
He hasn’t even SEEN hockey in HD yet :P
Wow! That’s pretty good! It took me a few years before I felt it was an affront to have to watch in standard def, and it took Mark literally no time at all. :D
Zach is so freakin’ amazing. I love him SO MUCH.
He hasn’t even SEEN hockey in HD yet :P
:^::::::::::::::::::::: Poor Mark! Bill Simmons wrote a piece a while ago that was a letter to his future self and it included something like, “Remember that once upon a time you didn’t get all of your sports in HD and you were thankful for the tiny bit that you did.” :D
Zach is so freakin’ amazing. I love him SO MUCH.
Seconded. Dude is just… Scary, scary good. I mean, he just keeps getting better! It’s nuts!
I think we need to stock up on sugar, donuts, Sprite, giraffe food and pot roasts.
Hee. Pot roast does sound like a good idea for dinner tomorrow, though. Or maybe chili.
Watch Guerin be going to Tampa or Phoenix or somewhere heinous like that.
And the darn Avs are losing 4-0 to the Rags. This is not good!
Ookies, I’m hoping the fact that Kevin Sylvester saw Guerin exiting the building means he’s not just riding back to Buffalo with us.
And the darn Avs are losing 4-0 to the Rags. This is not good!
The PHONK? That SUCKS!
Ookies, I’m hoping the fact that Kevin Sylvester saw Guerin exiting the building means he’s not just riding back to Buffalo with us.
:^:::::::::::::::::: That does sound very promising. Did he look like he was heading to Jersey?
Amy, my mom’s answer to all my troubles growing up was to make me her pot roast. It was my favorite. She even made it for me when I had morning sickness with the Kid. (That was probably a mistake. I couldn’t look at pot roast for a while after that.) Anyway, now whenever there is a problem or someone needs cheering up, I think of the proverbial pot roast.
If Lou trades for Guerin, I will… Um… Uh… Nevermind.
:^:::::::::::::::::: That does sound very promising. Did he look like he was heading to Jersey?
Sorry, Kevin didn’t say which way he was facing when he left.
If Lou trades for Guerin
I’d be worried about the poor dear who would be going to the Isles in exchange for Guerin. He’d probably be wondering who he pissed off. I mean, going from the #3 team in the conference to the worst team in the league could only be considered punishment, right?
I mean, going from the #3 team in the conference to the worst team in the league could only be considered punishment, right?
Clemmer’s like, “Who’d I piss off? Lemme tell you — his name rhymes with Blartin Blodeur.” :P (Of course, he probably wouldn’t see it as a punishment. He’d be all, “Yo yo yo! Clemmer in da house! We’re a playoff team now because I’m here, right?”)
HA! Gel-O just said (or rather said several hours ago) “I’m out of words for Zach, so I’ll just say this: if you don’t like Zach Parise, you don’t like sports.” Nice!
Meanwhile, if you do like Guerin, you’re insane.
Meanwhile, if you do like Guerin, you’re insane.
:^::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
““I’m out of words for Zach, so I’ll just say this: if you don’t like Zach Parise, you don’t like sports.” ”
Yes wasn’t that just the greatest thing ever? :p
Yes wasn’t that just the greatest thing ever? :p
It was! Or rather, the second greatest thing ever, after Zach’s second goal tonight! :D
Yes Zach’s goal was a beauty. Plus it brought us an interview with him. And that’s what really matters. :P
I guess the Islanders broadcast is saying Guerin is off to Boston or the Rangers. Not sure what the basis for that is though.
Good to have your priorities straight, KG!
And everyone else has gone strangely silent. Does that mean they announced we did get Guerin? For Pando? :P
Oh, thanks Heather! I hope it’s the Rangers. (On what PLANET do the Islanders trade to the Rangers? Oh, on the planet where they’re giving them Guerin, I guess. Heh.)
I’m still trying to figure out what Gaustad did to warrant a misconduct.
just as I walk in the door, Gaustad goes to the dressing room. Nice seeing you too, Goose.
I bet Getzi paid the refs off to toss Goose out no matter what he does.
(On what PLANET do the Islanders trade to the Rangers? Oh, on the planet where they’re giving them Guerin, I guess. Heh.)
:^::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Maybe he’s just insubordinate, like whats-his-name. Boynton.
Pookie, that has to be it. Goose has been no more of a punk than anyone else on the ice tonight.
Wow. Nashville’s up 5-0 on Detroit. First period.
Ooh, I bet the intermission report is going to be about Tyler Ennis! I guess he scored six goals last night.
Guys, this is what happens when you listen to Jerry Sullivan. Nothing good :P
Maybe he’s just insubordinate, like whats-his-name. Boynton.
Butthead? No way! [/sarcasm] Heh.
Chico was talking about that earlier in our game, and going on about how teams like the Panthers and the Devils set standards of behavior, and when players step over the line, they pay for it. And then he was all, “There were instances 7 or 8 years ago with the Devils that players still talk about, about not crossing the line.” And then he stopped at that. Don’t leave us hanging, Chico! Give us details! Who are you talking about? (And if it’s just Danton, BO-ring! :P)
Wow. Nashville’s up 5-0 on Detroit. First period.
I just saw that, Patty! I saw they were up 5-0 with almost NINE MINUTES left in the first. I hope it was Conklin. :P
How does Detroit stay so high in the standings and still lose so many games? If (when) Nashville wins, we’re going to be in effing 11th place!
Come back, Brad!!!!!
Nice ESP Heather!
I hope it was Conklin. :P
It was! AND Osgood! I was hoping they’d both look like they figured their shit out long enough to get past the deadline.
Who’s Tyler Ennis, Heather? That name sounds familiar.
Patty, that name sounds familiar because we saw him get drafted! The Sabres took him with their second pick in the first round in Ottawa. Itty bitty little guy.
this is what happens when you listen to Jerry Sullivan.
But it seems like the players may have taken Sully’s words on being soft to heart. They’ve been more spunky since that column hit the paper last weekend.
EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Travis!!!! I love this game!
Heather, is he the one who’s 8 feet tall?
Oh, and HNIC is talking about Brian Campbell. Did anyone else hear about him being trade bait because of his attitude?
Did anyone else hear about him being trade bait because of his attitude?
I should think that he’s not capable of being trade bait because of his unmovable contract.
But it seems like the players may have taken Sully’s words on being soft to heart.
Amy, that’s definitely true. I do like the spunkiness.
mcguffers, Tyler Myers is the super tall one. Tyler Ennis is the super tiny one. They were a matching pair.
I should think that he’s not capable of being trade bait because of his unmovable contract.
I was under the same impression, but if HNIC says it, it’s true, right? They’re always reliable.
Oh, and HNIC is talking about Brian Campbell. Did anyone else hear about him being trade bait because of his attitude?
Reeaaaaaaaaally? As in, bad attitude? Does little Soupy have a big head? Never leave Buffalo, Sabres! Bad, bad things happen to you! You’ll never be the same!
They’re always reliable.
Always!
Doc with the “Young Frankenstein” reference! When Clarkson got his goal, he and Chico were discussing whether he also had an assist to go with his fight, and when they realized he did, Doc said, “It’s been a long time since we’ve had a Gordie Howe hat trick, but as the Lieutenant says in ‘Young Frankenstein’, it’s time we had one!” :D
Did anyone else hear about him being trade bait because of his attitude?
Hmmm. The mind is going in about 13 different directions here. In Buffalo, for better or worse, he was one of the “stars” of the team. That could have led to development of an inflated sense of his self-importance, and now he might not be happy with playing third banana (or lower) to Kane and Toews. Or, it could be some other off-ice stuff that we don’t know about.
But yeah, I would think some team would have to be stupid to trade for that contract. Which means Tampa or the Isles will probably do it.
But yeah, I would think some team would have to be stupid to trade for that contract. Which means Tampa or the Isles will probably do it.
Which would answer that Guerin question. Heh.
Patty, that name sounds familiar because we saw him get drafted!
I thought so!! WOOO! I love that kid! (Based solely on seeing him drafted.)
I’ve been watching the Nashville/Detroit game, and it was seriously crazy. All 5 goals were within approx. 6 minutes. It was hilarious.
Karen, that’s AWESOME! (And hey, is there a baby yet? How about now? Now? :P)
We’ve been smacked around by the Hawks in all 4 games we played against them and I never remember that Campbell plays for them. You’d think he’d be more noticeable.
That would be pretty funny if he’s already worn out his welcome. I have a running feud with the midday dork who thinks he’s the only d-man anybody should ever want, and I say he’s not that great. (Not that he’s not decent, just that he’s not as great as people [or he] think[s].) (And I get all my info from the experts around here.)
As for Soupy, I always love it when a guy you know is a head case and a self-absorbed jerk drama queens his way off your team, gets big money, and then turns out to be a head case and a self-absorbed jerk on his new team, but with a ridiculously bloated contract. (Speaking of Bill Guerin… :P)
Patty, you need to talk me down. NOW. I have been reading the comments on Heika about Otter and I am somewhere between panic and fury.
And yes, Karen, how are you doing?
Myra, are there trade rumors around Otter? What’s going on with him?
You know, I could see that about Soupy. In Buffalo he was a big fish in a small pond. In Chicago even a rejuvenated Hawks teams probably doesn’t get nearly the attention the Sabres got here. Probably not as easy for a grease head to pick up chicks there :P
I am SO READY for the baby. But no go yet.
I was technically cheering for the Wings to win, but once the announcers mentioned that the most points scored in the first period was 6 against the Blue Jackets I was hoping the Preds could continue the run and end up with 7, so it has been a disappointment all around.
This is very stressful. I have one team ahead by a goal (but they’re the Habs, so, well, I’m just saying, it’s only one goal) and one team behind by a goal (and it’s the Sabres who LOVE scoring with .03 sec left in the game.)
My issue with Soupy was purely due to my family. None of them would admit that he did dumb things sometimes. So I would spend most of my time pointing out his mistakes to prove my point. It’s bad when you’re just looking for a player to make mistakes.
You know what? I hate the Sabres.
so it has been a disappointment all around.
Man, I hate when that happens! That’s what’s wrong with suddenly finding yourself cheering for a regular bad-guy team. Whenever I want the Rangers to do something, they always fail to.
It’s bad when you’re just looking for a player to make mistakes.
Heh. I feel like I’ve spent a fair deal of this season doing exactly that… :D
I’m blaming Vogl for this loss. He tempted the hockey gods by making fun of Bergenheim in the beginning of his blog. Of course, he would be the dude that scored against us twice.
Is it rational? No. But then again, when is anything on the internet rational?
Amy, I’m fine with blaming Vogl.
Myra, don’t read the comments! (Are they Ducks fans or something?)
Is it rational? No. But then again, when is anything on the internet rational?
:^:::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Too true, too true. I’m so sorry, Sabres fans. (If it’s any help, two games ago we got shut out on the Island. It was a good turning point for us. And, um, nothing else of note has happened to the Devils since then…)
That’s what’s wrong with suddenly finding yourself cheering for a regular bad-guy team. Whenever I want the Rangers to do something, they always fail to.
Exactly! That means you, Wings.
If I did my math right and if Yahoo is right, the Sabres are still in 8th place, since Atlanta did something right and beat the Hurricanes.
And yeah, Myra, don’t read comments on Heika’s blog! That’s just asking for trouble!
I’m sorry about the Sabres, Sabres fans! I was hoping the fact that our entire season is ruined would mean y’all get to win today!
Otter got a match penalty at the end of the game. He was shoving Niedermayer from behind while they were both in front of the net when the ending buzzer came. Giguiere didn’t like and hit Ott. Then Moen came in and pummelled Otter. Who is not supposed to fight because he has a broken hand and is wearing a brace/cast on it. If he uses it he gets suspended. The refs did nothing. His teammates did nothing. Finally, after Otter looked to the refs to stop it several times, he defended himself and brought Moen to the ice. Apparently, he gauged Moen in the eye in the process. Consequenlty, match penalty.
Now I know Otter is no choirboy, but he didn’t deserve that.
Atlanta won? I actually have that game on. Is it over? (It’s in the other room.)
Heh. I feel like I’ve spent a fair deal of this season doing exactly that… :D
Clemmer: “I know. You guys have been awfully hard on Zach this year. Sheesh.”
Clemmer: “I know. You guys have been awfully hard on Zach this year. Sheesh.”
:^:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Myra, I couldn’t believe the refs didn’t do anything. Ott’s trying not to fight, but he gets hit in the head seven or eight times, he’s gotta do something.
And he did nothing to stupid Giguere. Giguere was just being a baby and I’m sure Moen saw that last part of it where he was wrestling Ott to the ground.
I hate the Ducks SO MUCH.
Awwww, poor little Otter. Yeah, you definitely shouldn’t read comments in that case. Ducks fans are crazy that way.
Patty, Atlanta scored to break a tie with less than two minutes left in the third.
Myra, that totally sucks for Otter.
I’d really like it if the Sabres had to drive back from NYC. Nothing like a nice five, six hour bus ride with an angry coach to make you ponder a few things. But no, they take a nice quick plane ride and have no time to ponder.
I was surprised the refs didn’t break up the fight in Dallas, either. I mean, Ott was cross-checking Nieder something fierce, so I’m not surprised the Ducks responded, but it seemed odd that the refs let it keep going. (That said, eye gouging is kind of one of those lines the NHL sternly frowns upon crossing…)
I do not know why I read the comments. I know better. I just didn’t do better. I’m just worried about how much trouble Ott is in now.
Nothing like a nice five, six hour bus ride with an angry coach to make you ponder a few things. But no, they take a nice quick plane ride and have no time to ponder.
Oooh, a long bus ride would be perfect! (If it’s any help, when the Devils got shut out on the Island, they have a wee short little bus ride afterwards. And look how they’ve responded! I’m sure the Sabres are never going to lose again.)
Oooh, ANTM starts Wednesday. Trade day and new ANTM day all rolled into one? Sweet.
This year on ANTM there’s a contestant with epilepsy so I’m sure we’ll get all kind of good Tyra lessons about that.
I’m sure the Sabres are never going to lose again.
Or at least not until Wednesday. (BTW, they play the Canadiens on Wednesday, who are now on a four game winning streak. I’m kind of torn.)
I haven’t seen the Ott thing but as my brother would say, “That sucks donkey balls.”
YAY, ANTM! WOOOOOOOO!!!
I’m so excited for ANTM! A friend of ours emailed a few minutes ago actually to say that she’s heard that this ANTM cycle sucks. I’m like, “How can ANTM suck? I mean, the whole premise is that it sucks! That’s the point!”
Okay, I’ve now seen the Ott thing. And, while he shouldn’t have cross-checked Niedermeyer, the entire line of Ducks shouldn’t have flocked (heh.) over to him and gang banged him. The refs should have also proved that their testicles have in fact finally dropped and stopped the beat down as it was clear Ott wasn’t fighting back. When Ott did finally punch back, it was after about 9 punches and the realization he wasn’t getting help. (Where were his teammates?) All and all, that sucks.
(Where were his teammates?)
Yeah, that was weird, too. Especially considering how much everyone seems to like Ott in the Stars room; that really looked like the old “Ugh, that guy. Yeah, he’s a total douchebag — whatever the other team does to him, he deserves” thing. Which I can’t imagine was the case. Watching that in real time, Boomer and I were all, “What in the wide, wide world of sports is goin’ on here?”
Seriously, it’s not like he’s Sean Avery.
What the hell is going on today? The Devils and the Predators both score seven goals! Somebody pinch me.
*pinch* What a day!
Speaking of crazy commenters, Sabres Edge is going loco right now. I mean, the team has problems but could we wait before the trade deadline has passed before ripping apart Darcy for not doing anything? Because you know, nothing says winning like Bill Guerin.
I know, Frisby! I’m like, “I LOVE HOCKEY!” today. It’s such a refreshing turnaround for me! :D
Because you know, nothing says winning like Bill Guerin.
:^:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: It’s all Darcy’s fault! Guerin was there for the taking, and HE DID NOTHING! AIEEEEEE! *Sets hair on fire and runs around the room screaming*
And we’re watching the Devils postgame now. Look, Gel-O, I hate Ovechkin as much as (or probably more than) the next guy, but dude. Zach is NOT more deserving of the Hart. I think he should be a finalist, but even I’m not making that argument. :P
EEEEEEEEEEE!! I’m SO excited for new ANTM!
Holy flirking schnitt! Make that eight goals for the Preds. Jason Arnott gets a hat trick.
Whoa, Preds, save some offense for the rest of us! :P
HAHAHAHA. The Wings better get a goalie at the trade deadline.
HAHAHAHA. The Wings better get a goalie at the trade deadline.
I’ll give them Clemmer for Zetterberg and Datsyuk. And they have to pick up 75% of both of those guys’ salaries.
I think Martle needs to go to Nashville more often. :P
HA! Frisby, you’re right!
(Where were his teammates?)
All I can say is that from the video, it looked like the refs were waving off everyone that got close. Everybody has always loved Ott and ever since he broke his hand they have been quick to intervene on his behalf.
And sorry, I’m obsessing.
Because you know, nothing says winning like Bill Guerin.
Islanders: “Yeaaaahhhhh, we’re gonna go ahead and disagree.”
All I can say is that from the video, it looked like the refs were waving off everyone that got close.
The refs definately need to be shot then.
Seemed like somebody got in a small toussle with Selanne or somebody, but I don’t remember who.
That Wings beat-down was the perfect tonic. I don’t even care if it means Nashville passes us. I have to take the positives where I can find them.
And the spoonful of sugar that helped the medicine go down was drunk Mickey Redmond rambling at length about how the Preds are the luckiest team in the world for having beaten the Wings. (Not luckiest because all their goals were lucky, but luckiest because nobody ever beats Detroit so they should be pretty happy.)
Myra, I don’t think you should worry. I don’t see much coming out of that. I’m so sorry, though! I mean, it was just way, way, way, way weird the way that unfolded.
And sorry, I’m obsessing.
If that happened to Kaleta (our up and coming Ott) or Gaustad, I’d be ready to cut a bitch.
I heard them say on the broadcast that Guerin “told everybody he’d been traded” but didn’t know to whom.
(Not luckiest because all their goals were lucky, but luckiest because nobody ever beats Detroit so they should be pretty happy.)
Ahhh, Mikey Redmond! I would DEFINITELY take that as the spoonful of sugar. Heh. I love when the arrogant homer broadcasters are left trying to scramble to explain why their team didn’t win. It’s one of life’s greatest joys!
Myra, did you see Otter’s Team Canada logo tattoo on his arm?
Myra, did you see Otter’s Team Canada logo tattoo on his arm?
Yeah. I’ve seen it before. His right arm has that huge one, that I haven’t figure what it is yet.
If that happened to Kaleta (our up and coming Ott) or Gaustad, I’d be ready to cut a bitch.
Thank you, mcguffers.
I’m sorry, Myra, but he’s suspended pending review.
Since we have a game tomorrow afternoon, if they eventually decide he doesn’t deserve a suspension, how does he get his game back? Or do they get up early on a Sunday and make their decision?
Hockey blows.
if they eventually decide he doesn’t deserve a suspension
Since there’s eye gouging involved, I wouldn’t worry about them not giving him a suspension. :D
I read that they won’t be reviewing it until Monday. So basically he’s just screwed for tomorrow.
And yes, today, Hockey blows.
YES!!! That mutant Boogard is going to be suspended for the Canucks/Wild game!
And Ossi cut off all his Finnish Harvard locks. I’m so sad.
Rick Rypien is alive! He had sports hernia surgery in October and then never returned. I totally thought he had died or run off and joined the circus or something. YAY!
I totally thought he had died or run off and joined the circus or something. YAY!
:^::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
If Carrie Underwood marries Mike Fisher, she’d be Carrie Fisher. Do you think “Princess Leia” Carrie Fisher would be pissed?
alix, I’d say with a name like Rick Rypien, he was probably doing porn, but porn and hernias don’t mix.
:^:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Actually, at the start of the season he was playing with Hordichuk and Johnson and a Canucks fan called them Hordi’s ripped johnson. HAHAHAHA. Ewwwwww.
I love that little guy so much. He’s like 170 lbs but is one of the best fighters I’ve ever seen. His daddy was a boxer.
Hordi’s ripped johnson
:^:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
