There are a handful of new faces around here, aren’t there? They’re all cook, take my word for it! :D

Things are going swimmingly. The teams doing awesome, our Tranny Brides are still foxy, there are crocuses blooming in the front yard, and I’m about to open a growler of beer. Can’t ask for much more! Sorry you’ve been so busy, but I hope it’s busy in a good way!

I want to say, Dude. He’s been doing planned celebrations for a year and a half now.

My theory on the celebration last night is that next time the debate starts up again about whether he’s too exuberant, at least those of us who are tired of his celebrations have something to point to to refute the, “But at least it’s not choreographed! It’s just a spontaneous outpouring of love of the game!” So for that, I’m grateful. :P

I have nothing against Ovechkin celebrating his goals, he’s a great player and obviously enjoys playing the game. His normal celebration is along the same lines of that game where Parise man-hugged Elias to the ice – although that made me a bit uncomfortable in a public display of man-love type of way.

personally, even the group hug-fest is a bit much for me. i miss the old tap-your-line-mates-on-the-helmet-and-go-back-to-work celebrations. save the big celebrations for playoff OT wins and Cup games.

but the problem with the Ovechkin’s 50th goal celebration is that it was dumb. I’m usually pretty quick, but I couldnt figure out what he was doing. i had to have it explained to me in little words.

He tried too hard. he pushed his celebration envelope and it came out as contrived.

So, I know I’ve been an AV hater for a while, but he’s really grown on me. He’s actually kept the lines together for like a month and a half.

Last night was his 500th win and Lui got a shutout and in his post game he said the media deserved 1st star for pissing Lui off so much. HEE!
