Morning everyone! Hockey starts tomorrow!!!! According to my Time Warner guide, I will be able to watch the Leafs/Habs play. I’m still kind of confused about this. Rochester didn’t have that station, and we never had the Rangers because MSG played only Sabres games. I’ve been told the “SABRE” channel will have the Sabres games, so this year I get to watch the Leafs, Sabres AND Rangers!! Basically, hockey that ends in mid-April. Yay!!

I take the last of my four exams in two hours AND tomorrow is my last day with the poop machine dog!!! Oh, and all the players on my fantasy team play each other tomorrow night. Wonder how that’ll work.

Disclaimer: the “SABRE” channel only has Sabres home games (and those couple road games that will be in HD), provided that the lowly peon manning the tech booth at Time Warner that night pushes the button at game start time. Otherwise, you’re just watching movie previews. All other Sabres games are on regular old MSG on your cable dial.

About DirecTV, you can definitely get free stuff for complaining about Versus but you might have to recall a time or two, it’s the luck of the draw whether you get someone nice or not. I got a $200 credit and $10/month off the Sports Pack for a year the second time I called. I am still angry about there not being MSG HD games on Center Ice so I used it on the NFL Sunday Ticket package instead. Yeah I’m bitter!

A cheapskate tip, it turns out that with the sports pack you can get late night reruns of games on several channels, which is great for me especially since the reruns are on at 10pm or so in my time zone.

Mike, the sports package is secretly the best thing in the world. I actually often forget that it’s not included with Center Ice, and just kind of take it all as one whole. It is probably the leading reason why we won’t ever switch entirely to cable. I love having it.

Thanks, Mags! What’s hilarious is that Pookie resisted redoing her bathroom for a long time because there was extensive tilework in there that gave it a certain amount of character, but would all have to be taken out if she wanted a countertop that wasn’t child-height. So I understand her inclination toward not wanting to lose all the tiling on principle, but the problem with all the tiles is that they were dark dishwater gray, with washed-out light dishwater accents. This is such an hilarious departure from the previous color scheme!
