Three weeks ago, we put this item out on the windowseat in the living room of stately IPB Manor:
It was an Advent gift from us to Boomer, and we meant for her to open it on December 1. Of course, we’re much squirmier than she is about this sort of thing, so after just about a week and a half of us obsessively saying, in the hopes of driving her nuts, “What could that be?” and her calmly saying, “I’ll find out on December 1,” we broke down and said, “YOU HAVE TO OPEN IT THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING!!!” We’re very mature about presents.
So, what was inside? Why, tickets for tonight’s Devils/Wings game! Boomer has never been to The Rawk before, so we’re very excited to get to see how flabbergasted she is by the fact that her New Jersey Devils now play in the nicest arena in the NHL. We’re also excited for all-you-can-eat chicken fingers. We hope to have great stories of victory and wonderment when we get back!
