Welcome back, Gentle Reader! Or, if we want to annoy Heather with our Texas-yness, howdy! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, and that everyone expecting a visit from Santa had a good one. We’re currently buried under a mountain of loot and leftover foodstuffs, and ready for what we consider the second half of the hockey season to begin. (We’re actually going to be out with friends this evening for our annual December 26 Discussion Of The Loot but we shouldn’t be back too late…)

I hope Marty gets a shutout because Beninatti (is that who it is?) said right before the game started, very haughtily, “Ovechkin will get his goals. The question is how.”

Somebody get that down to Marty so he’ll have some ammunition.

Wahoo! Hockey is back. We are in our positions, side by side on the sofa with respective laptops, watching the Devils. We tried watching the 7th game of the 2001 Stanley Cup championship. But I couldn’t handle it after the third goal on Marty. Yes, I admit it. I have become a Brodeur lover.

Myra, I’m all in place to watch hockey all night. It seems like I’ve just been barely able to watch the Stars and nobody else for weeks. It’s nice.

Hey everybody! It looks like we picked the right night to not be home. And unlike people watching the Devils game, we had a great time and ended up staying out much later than we expected. Playing Pictionary. Because we and our friends are WAY cool. Heh.

It was good times! I’m clearly the weak link, though. We played once with me and Paul on a team, and then once with me and Sarah on a team, and my teams lost both times. I suck. I’m totally Millhouse’s dad trying to draw “dignity”. (It didn’t help that the other team was getting things like “box” and “daisy” and my team got things like “Kirkegaard”. But I’m not a sore loser. No, not at all!)

Yeah, yeah, it looks like Oklahoma. That’s why I added oil rigs and be-starred cowboy boots! They don’t have those things in Oklahoma! Or something. That drawing did prompt my teammate to guess Dallas, so there’s that. (The big arrow is to tell him “SOUTH of Dallas” but that didn’t help.)

That’s exactly what I was thinking. She drew what was CLEARLY Oklahoma, then started adding stars to indicate cities and I was like, “Whoa. I had no idea Pookie had such a strong grasp of the geography of Oklahoma. Nor did I think that Pictionary would include so many cities there.”
