Did anyone watch the Coyotes-Canucks game last night? Yesterday morning a co-worker was bemoaning her lack of hobbies; now that she’s finished grad school, she doesn’t know what to do with all her time. I suggested watching hockey, of course, but her reply was “sports confuse me”. At the end of that Coyotes game, Schnookie and I were like, “Yeah, that’s really confusing. One team wants to beat the other and vice versa, and sometimes, they really hate each other.” Heh.
The Czech men’s Olympic Hockey Team’s Roster came out today and guess what? Captain Hugs rides again! Elias was named captain of the squad.

As you all know, I’m very anti-NHLers-in-the-Olympics, and I’m getting huuuuuuuge “an important Devil is getting hurt because of the stupid Olympics” vibes, but I’m still like, “Holy crap! I know I’m easily swayed by hype and even then I probably wouldn’t be that anxious to see the Canadian Roster, but I’m bored and I want to see it. Surely it’s not taking an HOUR!
And why can’t anybody just type it out? Everywhere, I’m forced to watch video or join one of those stupid live “blogs”. (Okay, I’ve just checked TSN and Puck Daddy, but still.)

No Olympic hockey at stately IPB Manor, no siree. The one good thing about the NHL stopping for the Olympics is that we can spend two weeks watching (i.e. snarking about mercilessly) all the other winter sports, like figure skating, ice dancing (here’s hoping there’s as much awesome drama as there was between the Italian pair in Torino), downhill skiing, the foxy speedskaters, and the sexy Norwegian cross-county skiers. But I am happy that Getzi’s classing up Team Canada! He and Beaks are going to have the best time picking on Jonathan Toews!
I can’t wait for Olympic Curling. That’s my new fave during the Olympics. Although I also watch all the hockey, too. (The HD is always BOFFO during the Olympics. And when I say “always” I mean “last time.”)
