Something that can have been said about the Devils for as long as we’ve been watching them is that they are a lunchpail kind of team. Hard-working, unassuming, a bit anonymous, very much “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts” — basically, Pando. But this year there seems to be something just a little bit different to them. They’re still very workaday and approachable, and they definitely do a superior job of transporting lunchfoods from point A to point B, so to speak, but they’re not really pails. They’re more… like this:
That is the newfangled lunch device that Santa delivered to stately IPB Manor. It’s a cute gingham cloth, with a food-safe, washable lining, and a sassy strip of velcro on the outside* to secure your sandwich (or muffin, or cookies, or bowl of chili, if you’re feeling really ambitious and/or don’t care about what happens to the inside of your purse). In other words, it’s exactly like this year’s Devils.
*The sassy strip of velcro for the Devils is, of course, Pando. But that doesn’t really need to be said, does it? And the food-safe, washable lining is Marty. That’s kind of the key to the whole affair.
