So the Devils have clinched their 13th-straight playoff berth. All that remains between now and the ~~first round loss~~ start of the playoffs is convincing Kovalchuk he should sign a Hossa-esque 1-year deal with the Devs, convincing Paulie his arm really is bionic and his shot is now unstoppable, and convincing Zharkov the Candygram is not an urban myth. Join us as we watch all these things happen and more in tonight’s match-up with the Flyers!

I couldn’t figure out last night why a chunk of the Sabres fanbase was rooting for the Trannies. That’s like blasphemy in this neck of the woods. Then I figured out its because any Tranny win helps keep us far, far away from Ottawa in the playoffs. I don’t think I could handle a first round mental mindf*&@# / meltdown / bloodbath of a Sabres/Sens series. So Go Trannies, Habs and Bruins!

I found out last night (via TMZ) that Jennifer Love Hewitt “vajazzles”. I looked that word up to see if it is what I think it must mean… and it is. It is a cross of Bedazzle and a female body part that begins with V-A-J. My thoughts were:

1. I wonder if the people behind vajazzling are pissed that Versus stole the slogan “Show us your V!”
2. Someone needs to get Derek Roy’s Bedazzler away from him asap.
3. Vajazzling! For all the girls who want bumpy, glowing lady parts without having to sleep with Tim Connolly! (“You’re Welll…. Hey!!”)
4. Yet another reason for me not to wear pants or underwear in public.

I must be missing something, Amy, because I don’t see how Philadelphia winning games can help Buffalo to avoid Ottawa. Ottawa is 5th and the Sabres are 3rd, and that shouldn’t change. I don’t think Ottawa will miss the playoffs now, so they might as well keep that dubious 5th spot and get kicked by the Pens in the first round.

I don’t care how it happens, as long as the Sabres don’t play Ottawa. It’s like the Sabres control their own destiny, but at the same time, I know those effers are going to rest on their own laurels and some point and need help from the rest of the conference.

Philadelphia winning games doesn’t help the Sabres avoid Ottawa. (Ottawa remaining in 5th does the trick since the Sabres are unlikely to lose the division at this point.) Maybe guess is that Sabres fans cheering for Philly are hoping to move up to second in the conference. Which is fairly plausible since the Devils’ loss last night means that if the Sabres won out they’d be in second. (I don’t think this a) really matters or b) is at all likely.)

You know, I was thinking of that the other day watching a Carolina game, because John Forslund was rocking a SERIOUSLY egregious line on his forehead between the orange face makeup and his scalp.

I didn’t see any make-up lines. Could he be naturally that orange? Spray tan?

There’s no way that’s a real color. So why didn’t someone stop him with the spray tan? Or, why didn’t someone suggest he spray his ears to match?

Time for some MST3K to ease the pain and a note to all MST3K fans, be sure to check out Cinematic Titanic if it comes to your area as it has 5 of the pillars of MST (Joel, TV’s Frank, Josh Weinstein, Trace Beaulieu, and Mary Jo Pehl). I saw them in Seattle last year and it was hilarious, I think they are in Boston and NYC next month.

You’re right, White and Mottau need to be broken up ASAP. So it was with the opposite of joy that I see on Fire and Ice that all the defensemen tonight versus the Bear will be the same. Since the playoff berth is already clinched, I say scratch White and Mottau and play Fraser and Salmela instead! It can’t be any worse than Sunday night’s debacle, plus the Bear’s offense isn’t very good right now.
