I was a little bummed about how my work challenge efforts have been going, so today I decided to act on an impulse to check out the historic school house I pass signs for every morning. It was a nice little side trip after work, and I was well rewarded. I can’t wait to come back and take pictures here after the leaves change!

Good morning, everyone! I think I saw a very bad sign for this coming hockey season this morning — a profusely smushed roadkill turtle. Zach’s all like, “I say man! Why are you sleeping in the middle of the road? With your innards everywhere? And only half of you intact? Boxworthy, is this another one of your pranks?”

:^::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Travis convinced Zach that Turtle Halloween is celebrated much earlier than Human Halloween and that Boxworthy had a killer costume this year.
Awww! Travis is such a sweet friend! And now he’s going to race out to the pet store to get Zach a replacement turtle-of-affairs, in the hopes that Zach won’t be able to tell the difference.
Hee. There is no way Zach will be able to tell the difference. And Travis will have saved Hockey!!!

You’re right, Myra. I mean, for all we know, Boxworthy has been performed by hundreds of turtles, and Zach’s just totally oblivious!
And honestly, there’s no saving hockey. It’s always going to be that messed-up, abusive boyfriend we just can’t stop loving. :P
Speaking of messed-up and abusive, how did the Blersus schedule turn out? Are they still insistent on carrying at least one Devils/Sabres game, or are we finally getting a reprieve this year?

So does Wegmans, but it took me forever to connect the two. Seriously. I spent 5 minutes trying to figure out why there was now back to school candy? (BTW, who is able to keep candy in their house for 2 months?! Those must be the houses that give out Smarties… ech.)
We gave Smarties out last year for that very reason, mcguggs! In previous years we’ve been all, “Let’s give out mini Crunch bars! … [five minutes later] … Or let’s hope no kids come to our door.” So last year we bought a preposterously enormous bag of Smarties, which happen to be a favorite candy of Boomer’s. We jokingly challenged her to just try to have the bag finished by Halloween, and I think she’s still working on it now. That was A LOT of Smarties.

Nine Blersus games is almost a fate worse than death. I am so, so sorry. I suppose I should check to see how many Devils games are on it…
I love that we’ve finally gotten Blersus to drop the Devils/Sabres matchup… and they’ve replaced it with Devils/Stars. It’s like they hate us or something.

I had to review school supply lists for a client project, and I kid you not, bags of candy were on the kindergarten supply list in the district in question. As were Happy Meal or other dollar store toys. I guess families have to provide schools with behavior bribery items now.

And they’re partners with Red Hot Pokers, Inc. “Two Sabres/Rangers games?? I’ll take four please!!” (I don’t want to use the same red hot poker on two different eyes. Cross contamination and all.)
That’s good thinking with the red hot pokers. I keep using the same soldering iron, and it’s led to some very nasty infections.
