Mondays are so brutal. This was an especially cranky one, what with only one half of us going on vacation starting tomorrow. So here’s one of very few pictures we took today, of the begonias in the urns out front.

Today was the first day of my traditional last-week-of-August vacation, so Schnookie met me for Secret Luncheon. Few things beat Vacation Secret Luncheon, that’s for sure. Today’s topic of discussion was how Emily on Make It Or Break It should just go to Dumbledore already! — Pk.
Reason # 857461 why hockey needs to start: Sunday night I was watching the Steelers & the Broncos (which, btw, SUCK IT, STEELERS!!) and found myself utterly thunderstruck by John Lynch. Now I have no idea if he really is that beautiful, or if I’m just suffering the effects of the nothing-but-baseball dead zone.

If those flowers are in an urn, shouldn’t they be dead?
The urns are so ridiculous, I love them. The previous owner left them. They were especially awesome when the front walk went four feet from the front door and then stopped. Very stately indeed.
The color of those begonias is fabulous. Cheered me right up.
I think we will be going with the “Broken Roasters” for our fantasy team. I think it somehow is the perfect symbol for the current state of L2L Land. (I’m still recovering from dental sticker shock from yesterday. And pricing getting our own health insurance. Unemployment sucks.)
I really need the distraction that is hockey right now. Even if it is the Stars. At least they are pretty to look at.

In other, completely insane news, Antti Niemi is signing with the Sharks. I did not see that coming.
Although it will be nice having a Cup Winning Goalie(tm) in net.
