I’m judging all movies now based on whether it’s better or worse than “2012″, which Schnookie and I watched when looking for something crappy on tv. So far, “Spiderman 3″ is slight above the “2012″ line. I think “2012″ is probaby the cinematic equivalent to a low-def Oilers-Blues game from Edmonton.

BOLTS! scored with 10 seconds left to send this to overtime. Two seconds earlier the Leafs missed an empty net goal, to which I said (to Weber), “Oooh, wouldn’t it be funny if that comes back to haunt them?” Then Wilson decided not to put Komisarek on the ice, to which I said, “I hope BOLTS! score now.” And it was so.

And now the BOLTS! just won! Wilson should learn to play my favorite player when I watch… or else.

SNOWING AND STICKING? I’m so jealous! (Our mini tree is tinsel with a heavy base, so I don’t think the cats could knock it over if they tried.)

It’s 65 and raining hard here. No snow in sight. And the power was out at home when I got up this morning, which always sends me into a tailspin of believing it will NEVER COME BACK ON AGAIN EVER.

Yeah, andrew, it was pretty awful. Although its awfulness had been built up in our minds to pretty unsustainable proportions, so for a free (from the library) rental that we watched in our pajamas while puttering on a variety of projects and noshing on spice cookies, it wasn’t really ALL that bad. I would have hated it a lot more if I’d been in a movie theater watching it, or if I’d paid anything to see it. Heh. (It was far, FAR better than many Devils games this season have been.)

I have snow and stickage here; we’ve been getting the big floofy pretty snow, too. The drive home from the office should be AWESOME tonight, as everyone forgets that they actually do know how to drive in the snow, LOL. And I also have no water at my house thanks to a break at the other end of the street, so who knows what that will be rectified today.

Well there you go! And also, I agree. Someone gave me the DVD for x-mas a few years back. Watched it, then promptly sold it to the local record store. I’m okay with a bad movie if I can somehow make money off of it.

Oof. Town hall meetings are such a drag! Especially the ones that include our VP cheerfully explaining that there will be further rounds of layoffs announced mid-December for our management level, and then again in late January for the mid-level people in the group. Better yet, we’re getting word through the grapevine that the building has some kind of ventilation problem that requires we evacuate at 4 today. We’re all to meet in the cafeteria in a different building, and it will all be explained then. Rumor has it we won’t be let back into the building until 1:30 tomorrow afternoon. Which is all cool, except why hasn’t there been an OFFICIAL announcement about this? Have I been exposed to some horrible zombie-ifying something, and they’re going to scoop me into some containment unit when I report to the cafeteria? This is very, very weird.

And the news turned out to at least not include quarantining me, so that’s good. Less good is that it was asbestos in my building. But on the bright side, I don’t have to go back to work until 1:30 tomorrow afternoon, AND I get free cardiopulmonary function testing and chest x-rays. Yay me!
