Oooh! Oooh! What’s behind today’s window? Why, Brian Rolston being put on waivers! WHEEE!
Sure, it could turn out to be a totally uneventful waiver situation, but it could also turn out to be the greatest gift ever!

I hope Santa brings you exactly what you want. Best. Picture. Ever.
Tram, it’s an even better picture if you know what’s in the box. Heh heh heh. :P (Hint: Santa is NOT bringing Pookie what she wants.)

Santa sucks! Wait, is Santa Brian Rolston?!
Wait, is Santa Brian Rolston?!
Well, he’s not a very good hockey player, so maybe he is!
Could be. He wears baggy red pants and only works up a sweat one day a year.

OMG! We just flipped to TCM after the Trannies game ended… and it’s “Cabaret!” It’s a sign that someone’s going to pick up Rolston!

OH! NOEEESSSSSSS! SAY IT AIN’T SO, SANTA!!!!!!
(And that picture of Pookie is Freakin Adorable.)
AAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That picture is so “When I open this present will it be the Rangers taking Winky off waivers?”
Oh, and since I had to work late tonight I had the unique joy of listening to the league’s habitual basement-dwellers duke it out and discovered that the Leaf’s radio broadcasters are stodgy old farts.
And spin-o-rama shootout goals are the reason there are more concussions in today’s NHL than back in 1912 when Waldorf and Stadler were playing.
What an adorable picture of Pookie! And that wrapping paper is darling!

I’m glad you all like the picture! It’s my first-ever attempt at a self-portrait. I’m not going to say I didn’t take Tyra’s advice to smize and to take a sharp breath just before the shutter clicked, but I’m not going to say I didn’t. Heh heh heh.
Pookie, you are absolutely adorbs!
smize and to take a sharp breath just before the shutter clicked
If I’d taken a sharp breath at any point during my portraits today, I’d've fallen over.
Mags, I love your portraits today! I’m always so jealous of your awesome self-portraits. I’m going to blame the relative less-awesomness of mine on the fact that the 50D doesn’t seem to have a remote setting, so I have to use a timer. :(
Thank you! I wasn’t sure about them, but I decided to just go with it and I’m glad now :)
the 50D doesn’t seem to have a remote setting
For serious? Wow, I had no idea. I’m glad I was too cheap to buy the 50D then! I’d never get any of my knitting shot if I didn’t have a remote.
BOOOOOOOOOOOO I’d rather Neidermayer stayed injured (like, all season if possible) and we got to keep Luke Adam. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’d rather Neidermayer stayed injured
Niedermayer was injured?
Mags, your pics from today are great. I’d have fallen over in a heap if I tried to recreate some of those shots.
I tried to take a self portrait for my FB profile and it didn’t work so well. I might have to investigate the timer setting on my camera. Not to mention I have a little problem with coordinating a smile and my eyes open at the same time. I would not do very well on ANTM for this reason (along with a host of others).
Niedermayer was injured?
Old man problems of some sort.
Wait, you do ballet too, Mags? Holy cow, what don’t you do? (And that skirt is so, so pretty.)
I’m on a roll! The Beards of Bees has moved up to 12/14 in the league. My dinners served on silver platters to Samkos by girls in bee costumes is TOTALLY working!
Old man problems of some sort.
SNORT!
Thanks for the compliments y’all :D

I’ll admit I haven’t seen a whole heck of a lot of ANTM, but it does not strike me as something I’d want to do well on.
Holy cow, what don’t you do?
Have a social life. But I just got pointe shoes! Who needs a boyfriend when you’ve got pointe shoes!

:^:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I’d be done in by the fact that I wouldn’t truly “want it”. (And because I’m fat and ugly.)
Self-portraits are scary, yo! I’m totally impressed by yours, Mags. I am very much stuck in the “self portrait that features the mirror reflection of the camera, too” stage of that particular oeuvre. :D
And you guys, I got evicted from my temporary (but totally officially assigned to me, as evidenced by the fact that my phone line was routed there) office yesterday when some group of a-holes from HR decided they wanted to hold an all-day meeting in it. (They suggested I use the conference room they’d reserved. I had a hard time not suggesting that THEY use the conference room they’d reserved. It… made no sense to me.) So this morning I was thinking, “I wonder what crappiness is waiting for me at work today?” Only I didn’t get to work. Because I got a flat tire on the way. And my phone was dead. So I wandered around the orchard I’d parked at until I found a tree-trimming crew and begged a phone call from one of them. Thank god for Boomer. She came out with a phone, and we called a tow truck dude (because neither of knows how to change a tire), and then we sat, in the bitter, horrible cold, for TWO HOURS for the guy to come. I am not eager to find out what lies in store tomorrow in my week of escalatingly bad surprises. (Hm. Could it be related to the round of layoffs being announced today? :P)

I’d do that on purpose sometimes, if I had a mirror. Which I don’t. Leastways not ones I can see myself in, because they’ve got house-decorate-y stuff in front of them :P
Sorry about your flat tire, Schnookie! That’s terrible, about the conference room and the dead battery too and the stupid lay-offs!
But about Boomer. Where can I get one?
But about Boomer. Where can I get one?
Heh heh. Yeah, for realz. I was SO lucky to have her around today. I think I owe her big-time for that… :D
Schnookie, that sucks about your tire!! If you ever need another hand, I’m awesome with changing tires! … I just need about 8 hours to get there…

Dammit! If only I’d known! It sounds like you would have gotten there faster than the tow truck coming from Trenton!
And I would have brought hot cocoa!!
Now that school is done, I’m going to put some effort into blogging. There are some problems I’m having though. 1. Weber is a major lap cat. 2. I’m still missing my comma key, so I have to pause and make sure I hit that little computer chip looking thinger whenever I want a comma. and 3. I’m a computer idiot.
I figured out how to use center alignment today, so Yeah!

Oi. Hang in there! Just like Ziggy. Heh. But seriously, not fun. Not fun at all. I’m sorry that happened to you. AH BOO.
I figured out how to use center alignment today, so Yeah!
:^::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Congratulations on that! Like Weber, Rollie is a big-time lap cat. When we started blogging she had to learn how to sit closer to our feet. She’s pretty good at it now, sharing the lap with a laptop. Although she’s not sitting on my feet right now, which kind of sucks, because my feet are still cold from this morning.
As for today’s layoffs/reorg announcements, I just found out who the new VP for my department is going to be. I don’t know what that means as far as merging my department with her existing one, though. Here’s hoping they still need an admin. :D

What a wonderful thing to have to worry about over the holidays! Nice job, Schnookie’s bosses!!

Surely they will! I hope :S
What a wonderful thing to have to worry about over the holidays! Nice job, Schnookie’s bosses!!
:^::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: You know, they do this every year, so I don’t know why I even bother getting worried. It’s just like, “Hey, it’s the holidays. Time to start worrying about job security!” It’s just another sign of the season, like the big light-up snowflakes they hang up around town, and the Radio City Christmas Show commercials on MSG. Announcements of layoffs just put me in the Christmas spirit. :P
Lemme just add, though, that working from home is the BEST. I’ve got my work laptop next to me, and I just jiggle the mouse frequently enough to make it look like I’m fully attentive on the Outlook IM thingie for my coworkers, and meanwhile I’ve got my personal computer on and I’m puttering away emailing and commenting here and uploading photos without having to worry about company interweb-use monitors! This is AWESOME! I can say whatever I want to about them right now! I should bring my personal laptop to the office with me! :P
Schnookie, I didn’t realize you work for Kodak, circa 1995-2005. I’m not sure what’s more annoying, the threat of layoffs or the Radio City Christmas Show commercials. I hate my job, so I vote commercials!

:^::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Aw, but I love the commercials! I’m so sad this year they’ve gone without the “Fill your heart with Christmas” song. It’s like part of the holiday season died. :P
I haven’t seen one single Radio City ad. They’ve all been replaced with the Cirque du Whatever ads on TWC Buffalo’s MSG. I feel like I’m missing out.
I feel like I’m missing out.
There is always youtube.
In NYC on business then headed to the game tonight! Lets hope my bringing good luck from CT continues!
There is always youtube.
I know.
And there’s a nice smiley picture of Zach on Puck Daddy today. He apparently was attending some sort of police badge presentation.
Jarhead, if you can’t make them win tonight, then there’s no hope at all! :D

Boy, between the policemen and the librarians, Zach’s totally sucking up to New Jersey’s public servants!
My car is now home from the repair place, and has four inflated tires! And new Devils license plates! WOO HOO! And I survived this round of layoffs!

Hoorah, rejoice! I think I’ll have another cookie to celebrate the upswing of your fortunes :D
Mags, you might deserve TWO cookies. :D
Oh, and pray tell — what kind of cookies are they?
