According to http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Eastern/Atlantic/Devils.html the Devs can only lose four more games in regulation to be better than fifty-fifty to make the playoffs.

Personally, I’m still rooting for older guys to get moved. I still want to see Arnott, Hedberg, White, Rolston, Zubrus, and Greene in on another roster come Tuesday.

We could win without those guys, probably not the cup, but maybe the playoffs. I’d just much rather lose young this season, than squeak in old. And while I don’t have the animosity towards Zubrus that I have for Rolston or White, I just think he’s not a top six forward next year, and that makes him overpriced.

That, sir, is the voice of reason. You’re right, of course. And if we hadn’t had this INSANE run since January, I would have never lost sight of it. Typical, isn’t it, that the Devils would manage to screw up the obvious opportunity to just get the rebuild on? They’ve been distracting me from the whole “blowing the first overall pick” thing with this “you can BELIEVE!” angle… and I shouldn’t be so easily duped.

(And as for Zubrus, I figure his complete lack of ego and willingness to do whatever any coach asks him makes him worth his salary. He will play anywhere at any time, without complaint. That’s worth something to me. But then, I’m fond of interchangeable parts. :P)

Yeah, I really rely on the play-by-play, too, what with doing stitching and being on the interwebs while I’m watching games. I hate when people suggest that the play-by-play should be chattier and less “this is what’s going on in the game” (or, heaven forbid, the suggestion that there shouldn’t be play-by-play at all). NBC and Versus games are really, really hard for me to follow.

And no worries! I wouldn’t get sick of you talking about today’s game! That’s funny about Benn. The closest I’ve sat (not behind the bench) was the second row for a Devils/Blues game last year. I came away from that impressed by how ginormous David Backes is. He’s not listed as being especially abnormally tall and wide, but dude, in person? Hulking. I can’t imagine how much bigger the hulkingly huge guys look one row closer!

You can’t open RAW in Photoshop? Hm. I didn’t have that issue. Maybe you have to install the disk that came with your camera? Each camera brand has a different RAW program. Maybe your Photoshop just needs updating for Canon.
