So we’re all sweltering in the too-humid confines of stately IPB Manor, and we’re watching ’80s TV shows on DVD, and we’re sitting down for dinner at 7:45 because there’s no hockey to dictate our meal schedule… When did it become summertime?

I don’t know…but I want to know who gave Mother Nature permission to send tornadoes across Northern NJ early this afternoon. The National Weather service was giving me warnings to go hide in the basement. Claude and I made a judgement to ignore them…good thing the tornadoes weren’t very strong and went just off to the west of us.
EEK! Tornadoes in North Jersey? That’s super-scary! I’m glad nothing bad happened to you and Claude, Sue.
Humid already? It really IS summer. And I’m glad the tornadoes fizzled out before it made it to you guys.
P.S. Shea Weber has a Sparta beard. Heh. I AM WEBER! *fist pump*
Ookies, I don’t think we have spring (or fall) around these parts any more! Just summer and winter!
Ooh, what is your 80s TV show of choice?
It was windy and in the 60s here yesterday. Today, it’s in the 40s. What is up with this weather?
There’s no summer here, high today of 50, currently 36 degrees. We have had one over 70 day all year and won’t hit that again until Thursday.
And I don’t know if you guys have seen it already, but if you are looking for ’80s tv shows, you should check out Wiseguy. Kevin Spacey got his start in this show as a crazy mob boss. I think season 1 is like $10 on amazon and it might be on netflix too.

For reals! Of course, after we complained, it was a nice chilly, dray spring day today, so clearly the weather gods are a lot more accommodating than the hockey ones.
Our ’80s TV of choice actually spans into the ’90s, and we’re going sci-fi this summer: Quantum Leap and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The weather is so all over the place this spring. I never know how to dress.

Nice. I don’t really remember Quantum Leap well but as I recall you’re in for lots of bad acting and holo-deck fun from TNG.
Oh, and apparently no one on set liked Patrick Stewart so they called him Baldilocks.

Season One is, I guess, legendarily awful. We’re a few episodes in and we’re already calling it “Walker, Space Ranger”. Although if it was Walker there would at least be lots of fight scenes and roundhouse kicks to the head. All we’ve seen on Star Trek is a– zzzzzzzzzzzzz… Oh, I’m sorry, I must have nodded off again. (It’s awesome. “Terrible but has a lot of seasons available on DVD” is kind of just what we’re aiming for.)
Watching the aftermath of that hit on Simon Gagne had us all thinking of Mitchell & Webb’s “Helivets” sketch. “It’s dead.” “Its head is over there.”
It was overcast, chilly, and windy here all day, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t prom season! I know this because I spent 10 hours making corsages today. (Seriously, who the fuck schedules prom in April – in WNY?)
