I’ve been watching two minutes of this game and all I can think is the Habs and Sabres are very bad at hockey to have lost to both of these teams. If there was an event in the Special Olympics for Sycronized Figure Skating, this would be it. (I’m still totally not bitter though.)

when the bruins go up 3-0 in games then it’ll be just like last year and the trannies will have them just where they want them, they’ll win four straight, claude julien will get fired and lou will have a new/old coach for the devils…history repeating itself all the way around, we’ll just have to figure out who was the devil who fired a puck at julien during a practice the last time he got fired..

I’m kind of torn. This trainwreck is just to magical to look away, but Caps/Bolts sounds appealing. I guess I’m afraid the minute I change the channel, then Briere will get decapitated. I can’t miss that.

Plus, I’m just holding out to watch USA vs Sweden. Pretty epic loss for USA but Komi and Goose were on the ice for one of the USA goals. It’s sad, but that’s what this season has left me to look forward to.

mcguffers, if you can handle the excitement, the USA Hockey blog has a recap of the team’s field trip to a steel plant in Slovakia. The players all have that glazed over look like they’re trapped in that episode of the Simpsons where they go on the mind-numbing field trip to the box factory. But only with more funny hats and trench coats.

Yeah, the goaltending is atrocious. Also, the Trannies have been middling-to-horrible as a whole since February, so it’s a pretty toxic combination. (What I’m trying to say, very politely, is that the Sabres were pretty stupid not to be able to beat them. :P)

I think I’m probably more excited about the blog than those guys were about the steel plant. :D

(And the next time one of those NHLers complains about Buffalo being cold/nothing to do/nothing to eat/blah blah, I hope they remember their field trip to a steel plant in Slovakia and shut the heck up. And then try taking a taxi to Elmwood or Allen.)

Couple of things about the steel plant tour:

They do look glazed over. And, I have to say, I’ve been on two plant tours (Maserati in Modena and Hawker-Beechcraft in Wichita) and I really enjoyed them. I think I would have been more interested – even in a steel plant tour – than those guys.

It was interesting to see that US Steel is still in business, even if it’s in Slovakia.

I think I would have been more interested – even in a steel plant tour – than those guys.

I’d probably find just about anything interesting if I was surrounded by those guys. But I’m sure they find themselves less interesting than I do.

I love how in the one pic when they’re in the conference room, Goose is front and center, while Komi is sitting with the women. I have a feeling that happens often.

Grrr, I’d love to be like anyone else and laugh real hard at the flyers right now, but it’s the bruins, and this series is making their fans way too happy for me to really enjoy it the way I should. I know it’s unlikely, but right now I want the Flyers to win the next two games, just to see the Bruins fans collectively shit their pants thinking about last year.
