I know! I’m glad PsychoNeider has a place in the official ceremony! I totally don’t remember that fight so it must have been before my time.

I figured out what’s weird about this whole thing. I cried when 4 and 3 were retired. I’ll bawl like a baby when 30 goes into the rafters and 26 (if that happens, which it should). But 27? I’ll cheer like mad but not so much with the crying. A number retirement without tears? That’s just… So Scott Neidermayer.

Nice that the Stars decided to sit through it. Not all opposing teams come out for the ceremony. I remember when Stevens’ number went up, Carolina came out and sat there, out of respect (although Brind’Amour kidded and said they wanted to make sure he really went thorugh with it).

Hats?? Like, what kind of hats?

Both are felt fedoras. One is a traditional brown. The other is very 40′s influence with the front tipping down lower over the right eye and gray felt flowers on that side. I have a large head as well and usually have large hair (I am from Texas, ya know) so I like hats that have some substance. I hate baseball hats or toques(sp?) because they are too close to the head.

I’m not sure what sparked the purchases other than it is cold enough here to wear them without sweating. :P

Also, Bachman is the little (literally) rookie goalie. He has played three in a row and they have won all three with one being a shutout. More importantly, he has beautiful blue eyes and is adorable.

The bottom-line crawls DRIVE. ME. CRAZY. When they were first introduced, it was super-convenient. I’ll give them that. But at this point, they put too much information on them, so even if you did decide to go the the tv instead of the internet or a smart phone to find out the score of a game, it’ll take you a good five minutes to get to the information you need. The other day we had the Caps feed on and they have scrolling ads on theirs! You had to sit through three or four instances of the bottom line being filled with ads for restaurants and car dealerships before you saw any scores. The bottom-line scrawl has outlived it’s usefulness. And do not get me started on NHL Network scrolling tweets that aren’t interesting beyond the fact that they were typed by men who get paid to play hockey for a living.

Niedermayer was on The Game 365 with Fran Healy and Healy got him to show how to do a slapshot – apparently you aren’t supposed to have a huge backswing. So, Foster is doing it correctly.

I want to go back to only non-Conference (Division) fantasy players next year. Watching the Stars get scored upon by the Ducks on our fantasy teams just makes me feel dirty.

However, knowing that Hiller is a Vulture will always keep hope alive that the Stars can score late if needed.
