You know what can’t ruin our good spirits tonight? The horrors of watching a Devils/Rangers game, that’s what! Because we’re on glorious, glorious vacation now! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

That said, it’s not like we’re challenging tonight’s game to suck. We mean, it would be great if it didn’t. You know, just kick things off with a bang… Please?

I have a bad feeling about this game, but…

Good thing: No Tallinder
Good thing: No Avery (Clarkson and Chuckles might stick to normal levels of stupidity)

Bad Thing: No Captain Hugs…but Travis playing in his spot (not a bad thing). But, it means we have a completely and utterly useless 4th line (even worse than usual).

Probably bad thing: Marty in goal. He hasn’t done well against NYR in years.

BTW, I checked on a Ranger board to see what happened w/Boulton/Callahan. You have to take it w/a grain of salt, since they are pissed that Callahan is off for 10 mins.

But, apparently there was some shoving between B + C while the fight was going on between Dubinsky and Clarkson. Ranger fans claim Boulton instogated, Callahan should have gotten 2 at the most, Boulton more. In the past, when things like this have happened, Avery has gotten very little and Clarkson winds up in the box for 7 or 10 minutes, they think Avery is brilliant. In this case, it sounds like they either both deserved 2, or both deserved 10 (for starting a second altercation).

We have been talking for years here at stately IPB Manor about signing up for LaQuercia’s subscription “nose to tail” whole-hog plan, and had joked that we would call our pig Travis, because they’re acorn-fed. Of course, we aren’t about to spend that kind of money on meat, so Travis the pig has been something of a myth for us. Recently, though, we found a local farm that sells much more reasonably-priced whole- and half-pigs (butchered), so we ordered one. Tomorrow I’m picking it up, and I think Travis the person scoring tonight is a good sign for Travis the pig. Or perhaps Travis the pig becoming a reality was just the push Travis the person needed? It’s all so confusing!

And that’s my story.

I decided to check there because I suspected that the Rangers’ broadcast had probably showed what happened between Bouton/Callahan. Ours didn’t, because we don’t care if Bouton goes off for 10 mins, but they care if Callahan does. I didn’t expect Ranger fans to actually be impartial about what happened.
