I know I’m late with commenting about a game two days ago, but I’ve been sick all week. Don’t tell Boxworthy, but I blame the normally perfect Parise for the Rangers’ almost-tying goal. If he dumps the puck in the corner instead of going for the empty net goal, the whole thing doesn’t happen. I would also like to start a rumor that Chico’s contract is about up and he is showing the Devils’ brass what an anti-homer he can be if his presumably outrageous demands aren’t met. I say fire him and call up Sherry Smith from the radio.

And that SUCKS about your tree! How completely depressing! I have been so surprised how much I’ve mourned for the trees we’ve lost here, so I completely understand how you’d want to be running out RIGHTNOW to get something to fill the spot.

Frisby, I’m so sorry about the tree. It’s always a shock when a tree — even a dead one — is removed. We lost 3 in something like 18 months but each time there was no way to prepare for it. I think replacing yours is a great idea! I’ve been shocked at how big our little fruit trees have gotten in a mere six years; baby trees are a lot less depressing than I’d assumed they’d be.

And non-hockey related, the tree out front of Stately Frisby Manor that was brutally damaged by an ice storm a couple of years ago was officially pronounced dead and cut down yesterday. It looks so empty out there now I think I’ll have to visit a nursery in the spring to find something to replace it.
