Yeah, me neither! I just spent most of this period making the OPPOSITE of Devils — angel food cake! SO THERE!

And yes, KITTENS!!!! We only wanted one (a little boy gray tabby with white mittens and boots), but his sister was really bonded with him, so they wanted us to take them together. We did have to put two of our elderly cats down this winter, so while it’s a lot of cats, it’s not unprecedented… Heh. So yeah! Fabi and Zizou! They’re SO cute! But SO freaked out and hiding under the bed. I suspect I won’t see much of them until they’re adults and no longer cute. :P

That was Claude as an older kitten (maybe 5 months), so he was still very cute then. Right now he’s in the “I’m shedding and yacking up hairball season” with the warmer weather so whatever he looks like, he’s seeming less and less cute at this time.

I’ve only owned tabbies, but Claude has been my only one w/mittens. I generally favor tabbies as well. Or, should I say, they seem to favor me. My cats seem to choose me when they are kittens, I just take them home after that.

I know why this game annoyed me so much (besides the fact that the Devils were awful). The last two St. Patty’s days, NJ has won, Patrik Elias has been a star of the game and he has doffed a plastic green bowler to the crowd.

Today, not only did they lose, but Patty had a lousy game along with the rest of them. No plastic green bowler to doff. It’s just sad all around.

And Prawn is back from a few games off with the flu, so he’ll be cranky and eager to beat Marty. Beating the rest of the team will be secondary. I suppose it would be too much to hope that he’ll pull a Belfour and be drunk on cough meds?

Since it’s on the channel formerly known as Blersus, I’ll be listening on radio, unless I can find a stream. You’ll have to let me know if they tranquilize Clarkson, since I’m fairly sure Dubinsky (you know, the choir boy) will do what he can to make the brainless one take 50,000 minutes in penalties. I think that covers my preview.

Recently I’ve found myself watching more Blersus games and it’s just shocking anew how creep-tastic he is. HOW DOES HE STILL HAVE HIS JOB? I haven’t had Blersus at all this season and I haven’t seen many NBC games, so when I saw Pierre interviewing Sid yesterday during the Pens-Flyers game, I got the usual creep-tastic-ness, plus the extra he has when he interviews Sid, plus the extra he had because Sid is back and it looks like the Pens might win it all.

I had to leave the room. I wanted to call 911 and ask them to arrest Pierre and whoever runs NBC Sports for continuing to employ him.

So Blersus is doing its “tee hee! These teams have had fights off the opening faceoff in previous games! Oooh, fisticuffs!” crap again, which, if this is anything like the last Devils/Rangers game on Blersus, will be followed by Pierre’s “disgust” when the game gets feisty. That’s one of the things I hate the most about fighting in hockey — that the media wants to have its cake and eat it too.

I know, and if fighting i banned, or disappears on its own, they will all be complaining (including Pierre) about how the game has been maimed. My only point i that I don’t believe that 99.9% of the people who claim they are horrified by the violence in hockey will watch if fighting goes…I know many of them who are delighted when an NFL receiver gets leveled coming over the middle and they are fascinated when “slap-fights” break out in the NBA. They just don’t like hockey

Yeah, it’ going to be tougher at that age, my brother and his husband adopted a kitten at 6 months who, after several years, is still skittish around people (although he loves their other cat) but he has several ‘safe’ spots in the house where you can pet him and he’ll be very affectionate.

New kittens are always an attraction…no matter how many cats you have.

Claude is funny around strangers. He hangs back for about 15-20 mins, then he shows up, investigates the person(s), hops up and demands attention. He isn’t interested in me at all at that point, as long as my guest(s) will pay attention to him. It just takes him around 20 minute to decide to make his move.

I’m decidedly meh on what little I’ve seen of the campaign. Damn casual fans with their bar hopping and beer drinking and rock and roll music ruining things for the rest of us.

Seriously! They make watching the hockey playoffs look like a fun, sexy time! WTF, NHL? We all KNOW that it’s the OPPOSITE of that!

Grace flew by herself for the first time back to Dallas today for her BFF’s birthday. I managed to not be a complete mess about it. :)

I’m house bound with a pinched nerve in my back at the moment. Been to chiropractor for a month now with no improvement. Finally went to regular doctor (had to find one here) yesterday. David says I’m grounded until Grace gets back to try to get the inflamation in my back down. Getting old is so much fun.

But he did let me go out with him tonight to dinner with our Sunday school class. It was nice to actually have people to socialize with again!

Hey everybody! Happy Friday! And, if you’re like me and Pookie, happy vacation!!!

Myra, I’m so proud of you keeping it together when Grace went off on her own. I’d say it’s just one more milestone of how grown-up she is, but actually Boomer was putting us alone on planes (and, likely, hoping we wouldn’t come back) when were really young. Heh. But I’m glad that both of you seem to have survived this milestone! :D That’s a major, major drag about your back, though. I hope you get a solution to it soon. I’m sure having new friends will help!
