Elias is my favorite Devil of all time...not Marty, not Stevens, not Dano, not Nieds, although they all have their fine qualities (though I'm so annoyed right now, I admit that I am being unfair and most of Marty's are escaping me at this moment). I actually felt terrible that, although he was partly to blame for giving the Panthers life, he was sitting there saying the loss was ALL his fault.

Patty, please. That loss was completely and totally a TEAM effort.

It does warm my heart to see that Clemmer is still, well, Clemmer. Yeah, Scott, you can beat Marty, but he sucks now. But you can beat ANY NHL goaltender??? I always thought Marty had an ego. Did Clemmer take it with him when he went to FL???

If you listen to the interviews, except for Elias, who is basically doing a self-flagellation, it seems to be one big variation on, “We weren’t THAT bad…well, I can sleep at night”.

I stopped listenening to interviews years ago since nobody ever says anything beyond cliches for fear of offending someone, giving bulletin board material to the other room or for fear of sounding interesting. Whenever I am a little slow with the fast forward button and I caught a little interviewing, Elias has always given the most honest sounding assessments of anyone so it is good to hear he is being consistent. I also think it was outrageous that he got stripped of the C, he has always been one of my favorite Devils players and seeing the specials on his charity work gave me a whole new respect for him.
One of my favorite memories of the last few years was during the Clemmensen reign of terror a couple of years ago where they were destroying the Rangers by like 5 goals but Clemmensen's pathetic goaltending let the Rangers back in the game. He scored a goal to make the game like 8-5 and finally put the game away and the look of disgust he had was hilarious, like "Why in the hell was this even necessary, this game should have been put to bed long ago." Now that's a captain!

What shocks me is that Zach doesn't seem to have supernatural powers. A few years ago, it seemed like he was primed to develop them.
