We had a terrible feeling about Game 1, then a great feeling about Game 2, but today we’ve got no idea how we feel about Game 3. How about all y’all? Anyone getting any vibes about this?

We’ve been watching the games with the sound off, so Boomer was proud to say she’d looked up during an earlier showing of the commercial so she could tell us what it was for. Of course, it’s not just for Farmers. Ranchers and Country Folk can also get involved. :P

Update fin the rock. Another great crowd. And the media department really stepped up its game. During a tv timeout they showed a video that started with a Rocky training montage to Gonna Fly Now that immediately turned into a minute and a half of people punching Rocky in the face. Something tells me Lou was kept out of the loop on that one.

I’m not as anxious as I was in 2000 or 2003 because I still have such low expectations for this team. I definitely thought they should beat FLA, but any lead against the Flyers still feels like they’re overachieving to me.

That reminds me of waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day, maybe during our first season with season tickets, they had a clip during a Sabres game of the Buffalo hunt sequence from Dances With Wolves. It was interspersed with shots of NJ Devil making it look like he was shooting all the Buffalos. I was like, “Dude, this team has so much more of a sense of humor than I expected!” Then they never did anything like that ever again. Until tonight, because they were clearly saving all their awesome up.

Except for Marty and Henrique, I was fairly pleased with everyone last night, even Kovalchuk at least did good things to balance out the bad things he always does. I loved where right after he did a stupid turnover he made a great pass for the goal. I am particularly encouraged that this team is winning even when Brodeur plays poorly.
