Zach has to know that, now that he’s gone on the record saying that, he’ll be crucified if he actually does end up signing with them. Heh.
Boxworthy would certainly resign. “But, you said we weren’t signing there. I’m sorry, sir, but I simply can’t spend the next several years of my life in that place. I’ve made arrangements with Mr. Lamoriello to be his new intern.”
Awww, Boxworthy would be such a great intern! And, unlike certain other recent Devils interns I can think of, there’s very little risk that he’ll fly the coop to go play with the Islanders. Hmph.
The only thing preventing Zach from signing with the Devils would be a complete financial meltodown of the franchise… crap.
Sooo, the next two drafts will be in NJ and then in Philly? Does this mean we’ll get to read some field trip reports on them? I hope so!

Clearly, Lou’s mistake was in not signing J.P. to a lifetime ‘consulting’ contract when Zach was drafted.
Lou needs to get on this now and tie up all members of the extended Henrique and Larsson clans.
