One year and one day ago we embarked on a fantastic blogging journey we call Interchangeable Parts. We honestly never thought we’d write more than five posts, but here we are writing our 479th (okay, a handful of those were actually written by you, Gentle Reader). Pardon us while we get a bit statbitty here. In the last year we’ve written over 82 game diaries, 95 theses, and 118 reasons we love hockey. As of rightnow those 478 posts have generated 563,432 views (we’re pretty sure if we take out every time an IPB Irregular has hit F5, that number goes down to… 8) with Monday, July 2 bringing in a record 5,008 hits. You, Gentle Reader, have left 89,656 comments of the highest level of wit, intelligence and sarcasm. We’ve gotten 2,349 searches for “interchangeable parts” (compared to 2,635 searches for “Grady Sizemore “). But most of all, we’ve had 365 days of fun. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you, Gentle Reader, for making this all possible!
To celebrate our blog birthday, we’re giving you the chance to become, in addition to a Gentle Reader, a Gentle Listener! That’s right, we are proud to introduce the first of maybe a few, possibly many, Fireside Chats with Pookie and Schnookie: The IPB Hour (Contents Of Which Will Be Less Than An Hour). This is our first podcast ever for anything. You’d think a lifetime (read: 13 years) of talking about nothing but hockey would have prepared us to talk about it into a microphone for 20+ minutes, but you’d be wrong! In all seriousness, we dedicated the first episode of The IPB Hour to the state of the Devils since this time last year, that time when we said, all pie-in-the-sky, “let’s start a blog!” Please, enjoy the podcast!
